For Sale: 1937 Ford Sedan in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

My neighbor, just a few doors down has owned this car the last 20 years! He bought it from the man that restored the car. Overall very nice, solid car. It functions very well, I believe everything works!
Here is your chance to experience a true antique car. There's no Chevy 350 motor or 20 inch chrome wheels here.

EXTERIOR: This is what they looked like back then: black wall tires, drab colors. They were utilitarian. This was the first year of the built in headlights. The design features in the front end obviously resemble the Zephyr. This is called a trunk back sedan which also has suicide rear doors. This is all steel including the fenders. Very solid, no rust or damage showing and it's been restored over 20 years! Doors don't sag, they shut nice. The paint is very smooth and glossy. There is a scratch on the driver door, only significant flaw I found. The bumpers, emblems, trunk handle and hinges look new. The fender weltings were replaced. It has glass headlight lenses. Running boards were recovered with correct ribbed rubber. It looks like the side and back glass was replaced. The windshield cranks out. Reproduction Firestone tires on painted spiderweb wheels with V8 caps.

INTERIOR: It's been nicely reupholstered. The door panels were all remade in gray cloth. The seats were reupholstered in cloth and vinyl. Firm cushions and straight stitches. The metal was painted inside the car. It has the cool banjo steering wheel. The original gauges still look good and function. The knobs and bezels are not broken. Gray cloth headliner was replaced, the welting around the doors is replaced. It has the handle straps, foot rests, the interior lights even work.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The motor has been upgraded with a 10 year newer 90 hp Flathead V-8. It looks very clean and proper. The battery is secured properly. It has correct plug wires, hose clamps and hoses. The motor is not greasy, it runs smooth. The engine bay is clean metal painted gray.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid metal, even in the tool compartments. It has a matching spare with reproduction tire that's never been used, the nubs are still on the tread. The latch, hinge, weatherstrip and seat divider were replaced.

UNDERSIDE: Overall it appears to be very proper under this car. Shocks, exhaust, steering components look good. I bet there isn't a bolt that can't be removed with just a wrench. It not rusted or caked with grease. The brakes were completely rebuilt 250 miles ago. The floors and frame are solid. Looking up at the motor it's really clean. 3-speed manual trans is clean. Has original "banjo" rear end.

Very nice, well sorted old car. Easy to maintain and enjoy.
