This 1971 GMC Jimmy 4x4 represents a rare SUV/convertible vintage
done right. With proper V8 power, sleek paint, 4x4 prowess, and the
appeal of a fully removable hardtop. It makes for the best of
everything in one cool vintage package.
For many full-size 4x4 fans, this Jimmy is the one. The first-gen
gave you a full convertible top, and the GMC version was rarer than
the Chevy. So it gives this one instant respect and demand even
before you check out the total package. Black paint is always great
for premium distinction, but this one shows especially well with a
quality respray that loves to shine. Plus, the full hardtop is done
in white to give this the premium appeal of a tuxedo. The
full-length rocker trim shows off the straightness of the sheet
metal and it has that great classic wood-like appearance. The
brightwork looks excellent on the chrome bumpers and distinct GMC
grille. And the slotted-style mag wheels are a great classic way to
show off the lifted stance.
While we like the look of the white hardtop, you really want to
take it off to show the rare and desirable full open-air
experience. It has a very stock style, but you can also tell there
has been a solid investment in upholstery, door panels, gauges, and
dash to keep this all looking good. There are even nice details,
like the working under-dash lights, working Delco AM/FM radio, and
the western-style pattern on the seats that came on the premium
pickups. And while it's a true classic there are the right features
to make sure you'll enjoy the drive. For example, you have R134a
air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) You
also have features like front bucket seats, a center console, full
gauges with a handy tach, and plenty of room for adults and their
gear.
Under the hood is a stout small block V8. This 350 cubic-inch motor
inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor and a Weiand
aluminum intake. You'll also spot newer supporting components like
newer plugs, wires, hoses, and other essentials. The two-speed
transfer case, tall stance, and BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/As get
this ready for 4x4 duty. There's even a four-speed manual
transmission with a low first gear to give you plenty of low-end
torque. But more than just an off-roader, this has a broad appeal
thanks to power steering, power brakes, and front discs.
Complete with owner's manual, this Jimmy offers sharp looks, GMC
rarity, V8 power, 4x4 utility, and full convertible appeal. So
don't miss this all-around stunner. Call today!!!
