Vehicle Description
1988 Archer Convertible
If you want luxury you found it. When a wealthy businessman needed
to cruise around town he didn't hop in his Mustang or 55 Chevy. He
got into something that looked much more like an Excalibur, Gatsby,
Spartan, or Archer. Haven't heard of these manufacturers? Well
that's just a testament to how rare they really are! Even your
classic car guru buddies will have a tough time picturing an Archer
if you tell them about it. That's why you need to see this car to
believe it! The long sloping fenders, ribbed side exhaust, spoked
fender mounted wheels, and front chrome horns are just a few of the
features that make this car what it is. They are known as
neo-classics and inspired by Duesenbergs and the high end luxury
cars of the past. If you thought Cobra and 32 kit cars were a new
thing say hello to where they came from. People love customs so
even in the 70's and 80's unique kits were being manufactured.
Archer Coachworks decided they wanted to honor the vintage design
which was built over a Lincoln Continental chassis. What they came
up with went on to win awards and 1st place trophies for design.
This classic 1988 Archer Cabriolet provides the look of a
Duesenberg without that million dollar price tag. It is coated in
White pearl and has a great shine. The front and rear bumpers have
an awesome shine along with all the other chrome you find on this
classic. The spare wheels have Burgundy cloth covers which match
the top perfectly and are in great condition. Other unique features
include the chrome front mounted fog lights and the rear luggage
tray. It sits on spoke rims and all 6 wide white wall radial tires
are brand new.
The engine of this car is a rebuilt Jasper 350 V8 that packs plenty
of power. It is naturally aspirated and features multiple new
components including the alternator, AC compressor, MSD ignition
system, Aluminum radiator, aluminum overflow tank, finned valve
covers, finned air cleaner and new exhaust. The drivetrain also
features all new wiring throughout. The engine is finished off very
cleanly and on the firewall and inner fenders are polished metal
pieces that make for a great appearance. The automatic 350
transmission shifts very nicely and in perfect timing. The
transmission support has been recently replaced. This car truly is
a joy to drive and gets tons of attention. The motor isn't the only
thing to have received new components because the car was
completely gone through. It has new front springs and shocks, new
coil overs, new 28 gallon tank, rebuilt brakes, and rebuilt
steering.
The interior on this car is beautifully done and quoting the
original brochure "wraps you in impeccable European styling." It is
extremely comfortable and offers plenty room. The rear seat also
allows plenty of space so load up the family and go for a drive.
The Burgundy cloth is in great condition and shows virtually no
wear and tear. The woodgrain dash matches the woodgrain steering
wheel and add the perfect touch of class to the inside. A new
stereo system is in place and has a great sound. The air
conditioning system blows cold and power windows work properly with
new regulators. It has all new white face gauges with a satellite
speedometer.
This car is very unique and very rare. It wasn't everyday you saw
cars like this driving around and it is even rarer today. People
will be lining up to get a look at it and take pictures. Don't miss
your chance to own possibly one of the most unique vehicles you
will ever add to your collection!
