For Sale: 1942 Chevrolet Pickup in Mooresville, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

HIGHLIGHTS: Super clean restored Chevy AK pickup! Nice original-style resto in great condition! Same owner 20+ years! Classic and uncommon GM truck!

BODY OVERVIEW: The beauty of this pickup is the cleanliness and sharpness of the restoration. The body is straight, clean, and unencumbered by large amounts of chrome. Truly, this truck appears as if it drove right out of 1942 right into 2022! The black painted wood bed was a great choice, and really drives the original 'basic truck' look home. Complete with a lot of solid original sheet metal, this truck is truly an impressive 80-year-old vehicle.

PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Much like the body, the paint simply looks great! This is a freshly finished restoration, but the paint is a few years old. Nonetheless, it presents well and the color is sure to be an eye-catcher on this truck! When not optioned otherwise, these trucks were all manufactured in Brewster Green, and this truck was no exception. During the restoration process, the owner opted for this factory available Boatswain Blue.

INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: As one would expect, the interior is restored with new parts and materials. However, due to the length of ownership, the owner opted to refinish and reuse original parts whenever possible. The end result is a very clean, well-presented original-style interior down to the hammered finish on the door panels and dash.

MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Continuing with the mostly original theme, under the hood is a 235ci Chevrolet inline 6-cylinder engine in place of the original 216. The 235 six runs great, sounds great, and is more than adequate power for casual cruising. Equipped with a column-shift 3-speed manual transmission, this Chevrolet pickup is sure to provide an authentic pre-war pickup truck experience.

WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The clean look and original styling. Sometimes, it's hard to beat that original look! Plus the length of ownership!

WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: At 80 years old, this truck will dutifully deliver you an authentic 1940s truck experience, however do bear in mind that it drives like a truck from the 1940s.

DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? The wipers, horn, and heater are not operational at this time.

WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Anyone looking for a fun, unique truck that hasn't been customized or modified should be all over this! If you're after an original-style restored Chevy truck from an uncommon model year, this could be a good fit.
