Mechanical Specs
Open the hood and what you see is unbelievably nice! One of the
best looking engine compartments I have ever seen. The 400 cubic
inch stoker motor in this 55, has 4-bolt mains, a stroker crank,
Fast Burn Heads, Doug Thorley Headers, a Comp Cam Thumper cam,
Scorpion Rocker Arms, Hi-Torque Starter, March Serpentine Belt
Pulley System, MSD Electronics, polished Offenhouser Low Profile
Cross Ram manifold with 2 4-barrel performance 450 cfm carbs
covered by K&N filters, see thru valve covers so you can see
the rocker arms working, Holley Electric Fuel Pump and a Stainless
gas tank.
The power is backed by a TKO 500 5-speed transmission and Hurst
shifter, back thru an Aluminum driveshaft and the original 10-bolt
Posi rear end and a reworked suspension with Disc brakes front &
rear.
It rides on polished Keystone wheels with spinners on BF Goodrich
raised white letter tires and has the right look and stance which
it backs up with the power from that engine.
Interior
The complete interior is a show-stopper also with its Custom
Diamond-Pleated blue and white interior with matching front and
rear bench seats and door panels, custom aluminum dash with the
Autometer gauges, Autosound radio system, chrome shifter, carpet,
fuzzy dice, original steering wheel, accessory gauges underneath
the dash, and billet pedals.
In other words, everywhere you look you see quality custom
no-expense spared updates. This 55 is as nice a custom as you will
ever find.
Exterior
The 55 was custom painted in 2008 a shade of Corvette Blue with
flames. It looks subtle and super at the same time. All the chrome
trim, moldings, glass, mirror, chrome front and rear bumpers looks
great as does the addition of the low profile cowl induction hood
and the custom addition of a 1957 Chevy grill.
All of the suspension and running components of this Bel Air has
been replaced and improved to make it ride as great as it
looks.
Conclusion
The classy custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air we have at Skyway Classics
has the look of a vintage classic 1955 that will be hard to outdo
anywhere. It is great to look at, great mechanicals, and a blast to
take to shows and cruises. Come see it today.
