A classic 4x4 like this 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 does a
terrific job of being a true classic that's truly useful. And this
one has been given the right care and investment to be the right
mix of a mountain climber that can also traverse the social
ladder.
What's really going to strike you about this FJ is its versatility.
Crystal clear headlights, bright updated alloys, and an overall
tidy style make this look like a quality classic. And the white
paint has a clean look that will get you invited to part this one
at tropical garden parties. But there's also an unmistakable
feeling that this one is ready for real action. The front bumper
has a 12,000 lbs. winch neatly integrated. There's a tall snorkel
air intake for getting deep into streams. And they even added rear
fender flares for the wider deep tread tires. It's a true off-road
4x4, and it has the features to really allow you to flex its
muscle.
The exterior bright white returns inside, and the fresh black
upholstery makes for a tasteful contrast. This one has the right
upgrades you really want, like front bucket seats, shoulder
seatbelts, cup holders, and an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth. The
armrest center console even doubles as a lockbox. The double doors
of the rear swing open wide so that you can fit people in the
hallmark jump seats, or you can fold them up to give you plenty of
room for your adventure gear.
The engine bay shows off one of our favorite parts of the FJ, the
3.9-liter inline-six. It has one of the most robust reputations in
the world, and it produces the kind of torque that allowed these
Land Cruisers to explore parts of the globe that never had roads.
This one looks like it's up for the task with newer investments in
everything from the carburetor to the aluminum radiator. The engine
fires up eagerly, and the four-speed manual transmission lets you
take proper control. The two-speed transfer case is for real 4x4
duty. Plus, the lifted stance and new Crosswind LT tires let you
get deep into nature. But this was built to be a good all-around
classic. So the quiet note of the exhaust and power brakes with
front discs also help make this a nice in-town cruiser, too.
This is the all-around well-done FJ40 that reminds you why Toyotas
have such a near bulletproof reputation. So if you love an awesome
classic made to last generations, call today!
