For Sale: 1968 Pontiac Firebird in Alpharetta, Georgia

Vehicle Description

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS, 1968 PONTIAC FIREBIRD 350 H.O 4-SPPED CONVERTIBLE, MATCHING #, HIGHLY DOCUMENTED, LOADED UP WITH OPTIONS AND READY TO SHOW AND GO!

This '68 H.O Convertible is one RARE BIRD, in amazing condition inside and out!  If you have been searching for a gorgeous Firebird Convertible then this H.O, 4-speed car is one you really need to see! I oriignally purchased this car 11 years ago from a gentleman who I believe was the 3rd owner. This car was originally purchased by a gentleman in South Carolina who later moved to Florida. He owned the car up until 1990 and the car had 90,000 miles at the time he sold it to a dealer in North Carolina. The car was then purchased by a guy in Ohio who then had it restored in 1992. He then sold it to another guy in Ohio in 2006 when it had 96,000 miles on it. I then purchased the car with 104,000 miles on it and sold it in 2011 to a woman in New York who purchased it as a surprise 40th birthday present for her husband. He was thrilled and the car remained at their summer home in the Hamptons in a climate controlled garage being enjoyed in the Spring and Summer months and they added 8000 miles in theri 11 years of owning it.  I received a call that they had their fun with it and were ready to move on to another bucket list car so I had the opportunity to buy it back which I was thrilled about. This is a what I would call a local Show car that is also a car that you can get in and drive and enjoy.  When the car arrived back to me it looked just like it did when we sold it 11 years ago and the restoration has held up amazingly as you will see in the pics and video. I am also a transport broker and can get the lucky new owner a great rate on Enclosed Transport anyhere in the country and I also welcome overseas buyers. Sit back and enjoy!!

Unbelievable as it may seem this Solar Red beauty was restored in 1992 by the second owner. I say unbelievably because I have never seen a 30 yr. old restoration look so good.  Paint and body are near flawless still. Body is extremely straight and body gaps are fantastic.  Chrome bumpers, stainless trim and emblems all look fantastic. Weatherstripping and glass all look great with just a minor rock chip in the passenger side of the windhseild.  The Solar Red paint looks amazing with super gloss finish and is near flawless other then a couple of tiny rock chips and a tiny crack in paint at the antennae base. This car will surely win its share of trophies if you enjoy going to the shows and cruise ins and it will also plant a smile on your face from ear to ear every time you drive it!

The Black Convertible top is great condiition and was replaced at time of restoration. Originally this car was delivered with a white convertible top according to the cowl tag codes. I replaced the top pads whihc were showing some wear. The convertible top boot cover looks great. While I hope the next lucky owner enjoys this Bird with the top down as much as possible it is nice to know the top works great and looks great when needed.

Complimentiong the Solar Red exterior is the Deluxe Custom Trim option Interior in black that was also restored in 1992 and still looks amazing as well. This Deluxe interior is a really nice upgrade with molded door panels and upgraded interior material VERY rare fold down rear seat option.. The custom trim package added the deluxe sport steeerring wheel and this one also got the tilt steering wheel option. The burl woodgrain center conosle still looks close to new.  Other options include passenger side visor mirror and a rare drivers side remote mirror. Original am/fm radio in dash with an aftermarket am/fm/cd neatly mounted below the dash. Front and rear seat belts. Carpeting is in great condition and a brand new set of Firebird floor mats were added. I think you will see that the interior is also ready to show and looks fantasitc as well as being very comfrotable.

Under the hood sits the original matching number 350 H.O ( High Output) V8 putting out 320 horsepower achieving its muscle through 10.5:1 high compression, a rochester 4bbl and hotter cam then a base 350. With just 112,750 oriignal miles this baby still runs strong as ever and sounds great doing it through the dual exhaust.  Handling was upgraded to handle the power and this car also has Power Steering and Power brakes for easy handling and excellent stopping power. This powerful Bird will get up and go and is a blast to drive as you go through the gears. It also cruises comfortably at any speed and glides along the road. About the only thing I might change would be to add a set of Redline tires like it was originally equipped with. The  Rally II wheels look great and this car has a great stance. When you turn the key and hear that key buzzer you will be taken back to the 60's when this 350 H.O was a serious miuscle car. Fire it up and you will be grinning ear to ear wherever you go as people wave, honk and stop you to talk wherever you go! Be sure to watch the video to hear this baby start up and running.

Undercarriage looks great and is rust free. Inside the trunk is also rock solid and looks great with the correct trunk mat and spare tire cover. It also has the original jack as well as original "cokctail shaker" weights still in place. The car will also come with a custom fit car cover.

Amazing documentation including the original title, original dealer paperwrok , build sheet, replica window sticker, letter from original owner to the second owner, restoration photos, and more!

BE SURE TO CLICK ON THE VIDEO TO SEE WALK AROUND AND HEAR IT START UP AND RUNNING!!
