1950 Cadillac “RAT PACK” Five History:
In 1950 the Cadillac Deville was one of the sharpest classics produced in the US. Weighing it at over 4000 lbs and having a top speed of 145 km/90 mph its boasting 5.4 liter V-8 allows the engine to power the wheels via a 3-speed manual box. This 1950 Cadillac “RAT PACK FIVE” gives tribute to the original all five member Rat Pack consisting of some of the most legendary performers that include Peter Lawford, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and let’s not forget Joey Bishop. This Cadillac was once owned by the infamous NY mobster Joseph Bonnan. When the Rat Pack Five would perform at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas their gigs were often improvised by other members showing up for an impromptu show. And what better way to travel to those gigs than in this 1950 Cadillac Deville. You will see a self portrait of the group curated on the back trunk and another icon emblem just beside the driver’s door. The interior is done in a smokey grey and oyster and in excellent condition. The gages are all in working condition and the mileage is at only a little over 53,000 original miles. With chrome surrounding the vehicle and white wall tires and original Cadi wheels this amazing tribute is a car collector’s dream. This 1950 Cadillac has been in the same Bonanno mafia family since new for over 60 years. It has 51,00 actual miles and equipped with vintage A/C and also a hidden cd/radio tuner in the glove box. The original clock and radio work perfect. The color is Gun metal black. The original owner, Joseph Bonanno lived in Bronx, New York and was good friends with Frank Sinatra and the rest of the "Rat Pack 5." Frank Sinatra asked the once owner if he paid for the mural of the "Rat Pack" to be put on the trunk for advertisement would he agree to it. There is a gorgeous mural now located on the trunk and to the left of the mural is a lady that was the owners mother and also then a model for the Ford Modeling Agency of NY and who also danced with the Rockets at Radio City Music Hall. This particular classic is in pristine condition and now being showcased in the showroom at Carolina Classic Cars of Asheboro, NC and is now part of the private collection owned by the Bongiovanni family.
