For all those Ford guys who wanted something like the Impala SS,
this rare burgundy 2004 Mercury Marauder is the answer. A big,
rear-wheel-drive sedan with Ford's most potent V8, updated
handling, and big brakes, the Marauder was a short-lived experiment
that we are only now beginning to appreciate as it matures into
classic status.
Rarity is really on the side of this speedy sedan. This generation
of Marauder was only available for two years, and 2004 had a
smaller production run. Dark Toreador Red was only available this
year, and it was the rarest of the colors with less than 1,000
believed to be produced.
So you may already be thinking about this one's collectability.
This one remains highly original with the special paint remaining
mostly stock. It looks quite good for its age and mileage, which
suggests responsible ownership. And because it is well preserved,
you can see the unique Marauder derails like The dark grille, sleek
front bumper, 18-inch polished alloys, a special spoiler, large
dual exhaust tips, and a special spoiler. A unique feature in this
Marauder that you're likely not going to find elsewhere is a white
and amber LED flashing light kit. It may hint to a construction
foreman past or some semi-official emergency responder duty but it
is an interesting and well-integrated feature.
The practical side of you loves the Marauder for the full-sized
luxury inside. There's plenty of space to spread out across the
supple leather interior. It's loaded with all the best features
like power windows, power locks, power front seats, a premium
AM/FM/CD stereo with cassette and CD changer, cruise control, dual
airbags, and a powerful automatic A/C climate control system. You
also have some nice options that make this even rarer, like heated
seats, and a sunroof. And while this is a sizable car for family
and friends, a performance car also makes sure to focus on the
driver. That's why you have front bucket seats, a tilt steering
column, white-faced gauges, and power-adjustable pedals.
The reason why the Marauder was able to be such a powerful force is
because it came about in the era of Ford's excellent 4.6-liter
modular V8. This received the four-valve DOHC version, which
basically gave this the same fuel-injected power as the
contemporary 300+ hp Ford Mustang Mach 1. The suspension was
upgraded utilizing components from Ford's Crown Vic police program,
including four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. So this one knows how to
handle its size. But for those times when you just want to cruise,
features like the four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive
make this a fine road trip machine, too.
The sale comes complete with the original window sticker, owner's
manual CD, and more. This is the rare performance treat with all
the best in a modern muscle car. Call today!!!
