GKM.com) Like a Rock: ... the '88-98 Chevy and GMC pickups are
becoming true classics. €" Driving Line, July 2020 Driving Line
explained: When a vehicle becomes a classic, it usually falls into
one of two categories. Rare, exclusive, unusual, or popular and
iconic. A Ferrari F40 will fall into that first category while a
1964 1/2 Ford Mustang will fall into the second. And, as the years
go on and vehicles age, we will be welcoming new classics that
represent all categories. As we head into the 2020s, the 1988-98
Chevy C/K pickup truck is on its way to becoming a classic in the
popular and iconic category. The '88-'98 Chevy truck along with its
GMC twin represent a perfect blend of the classic and the modern.
From its just-right size to its subtle styling, the GMT400 trucks
have earned a lot of fans over the decades. Offered here is an
accident-and-damage-free, California-owned example of this
award-winning value: a 1998 Chevrolet Sierra K1500 regular cab,
4-wheel-drive, in Medium Dark Teal (code 36), with matching
cargo-area top, over tan. The truck's odometer shows 113,591 miles,
or fewer than 5,000 miles per-year on average since new. The
overall excellent condition of the pickup shows what can result
from the owners' commitment to proper care and regular servicing.
The pickup's original Teal paint retains excellent shine across all
body panels, with some wear from use on the tailgate. The paint on
the Stockland® rear cargo-area fiberglass topper, however, is faded
and worn. (For the best assessment of paint condition, please refer
to the close-up photos included in the gallery.) There are no
dings, dents, or other damage on the sheet metal panels. Chrome
bumpers and grille trim are in excellent condition. Lighting lenses
are clear and un-cracked, and cabin glass (including on the
cargo-area topper) is similarly free of damage. All factory
emblems-including the gold bowtie emblem in the front grille,
bowtie with 1500 model-designation on the front fenders, and
Chevrolet Silverado emblems on the cabin and the tailgate remain
mounted. The 4x4 graphic is also in place on the rear quarter
panels. The black-trimmed rear step-bumper and all other rubber
body trim remains in excellent condition. The cargo box includes an
installed GM Duraliner showing regular-use indications but no
damage. Stock, 5-angled-spoke alloy wheels are mounted with Trail
Guide® HLT outline-white-letter tires. The pickup's interior is
virtually entirely stock. The tan textured-fabric upholstery on the
split-bench seat and armrest has been maintained well; only light
evidence of wear is present. The tan carpeting (with rubber
protective mats) is clean with some light staining. (Please view
the close-up photography in the gallery to assess the condition of
the Silverado's various interior surfaces.) A 4-spoke,
Chevrolet-branded black steering wheel fronts the truck's black
dash with driver-focused, complete instruments (including
tachometer). Controls for the factory radio and the HVAC controls
are located on the right hand side, surrounded by black for easy
legibility. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim
finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the
car in the accompanying gallery.) All instrument and control
graphic markings are clear and crisp. Power window and door-lock
controls are mounted on the well-maintained door t
