Vehicle Description
This 1971 Volkswagen Type 2 Bus is a great classic that became an
icon thanks to both style and function. So while we all have fond
memories of where we were when we saw our first Bus, the next owner
also gets to discover how great they are to still enjoy and
customize today.
The second series of the Type 2 has terrific body lines for a cool
two-tone presentation. The burgundy and white here is a
driver-quality application that carries that tradition quite well.
More than just a two-tone, the colors are intertwined nicely as the
white bumpers and steel wheels complement the roof section. There
are nice details like the bright hubcaps and the front bumper with
integrated steps (one of the final years for this feature.) And
you'll also spot some nice investments in fundamentals, like the
new windows and rubber seals. So while you can tell from the pics
that the full package is not perfect, there have been about $5k
worth of recent investments. That means you have useful additions
now and room to personalize this into your ideal magic bus.
The interior is quite open, but you likely are happy to think about
its potential. The right fundamentals are in place, like the newly
upholstered front bucket seats, good side panels, and a full rear
bench seat. The rest is a blank canvas for you to get creative to
create anything from an awesome camper to a great way to promote
your company's product.
Under the rear hatch is VW's famous air-cooled flat-four. This
1600cc unit has the look of some newer maintenance items to keep it
a stout powerhouse. The four-speed manual transmission allows you
to take full control of the motor. Plus, owning a later
second-generation Type 2 has its benefits out on the road,
including an improved suspension. There are also newer touring
tires and the stopping power of power brakes with front discs.
Complete with build receipts, this is a strong cruiser on day one
and there's plenty of potential for whatever your plans are down
the road. So don't miss this Bus. Call now!
