Vehicle Description
This 1974 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser is an off-roading icon. But
while you'll love it for its vintage status, you'll also see
investment in the right places to keep this a fun and capable 4x4 -
including a V8 upgrade in the engine bay!
This strikes the right balance of vintage and upgraded everywhere
you look. The stance is lifted for added ability, but this FJ
doesn't rudely ride in the sky. The red paint has a nice enough
gloss that looks good when you just want to have a memorable
vintage vehicle rolling through town. And the way the white top
matches the white grille is a stylish touch. But nothing ever gets
too fancy that would make you hesitate to keep going once the
pavement ends. In fact, that's also why you have versatile features
like the rear tow hitch, front tow hooks, and Mickey Thompson Baja
Claw tires.
The interior is set up for comfort and utility. It starts with the
upgraded front seats that are now cushy high-back buckets. The rear
seat is a Jeep-style bench with headrests for better passenger
comfort. There's even an AM/FM/cassette stereo for good driving
music. As a proper FJ, the hardtop can be removed. And you notice
handy features for when you're open to the world like the roll bar
and rugged floor cover. Just like the exterior, nothing here ever
gets too fancy to stop you from really using this Land Cruiser to
the fullest. So you have a thin/grippy steering wheel, robust
shifter, and upgraded gauges with a handy added tach to make this a
real driver.
Under the hood is a terrific upgrade to a 350 cubic-inch V8. We
love these Toyotas for their near indestructible reputation, and
the Chevy small block unit shares that kind of status. Plus, power
upgrades like the Holley four-barrel carburetor and Holley intake
offer a huge added helping of extra power and torque. And you'll
love the tune coming out of the side-exit dual exhaust. It's a
great-running package that you take full control over thanks to the
three-speed manual transmission. The two-speed 4x4 transfer case,
Warn locking hubs, and Rancho shocks make this a capable
off-roader. And the power steering and power brakes are great for
all conditions.
This is the right mix of vintage style and well-done upgrades to
deliver the Land Cruiser you've been waiting for. So don't let this
deal slip away, call now!
