Vehicle Description
1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Custom
The Chevrolet Master was introduced in 1933 to replace the Eagles
from the previous years. They were the more expensive model in
Chevrolet's fleet with the Standard being the more affordable
option. Out of them all the Master Deluxe offered the best
equipment and the highest trim level available. There is some
interesting history that comes along with the Master as well as
these were the last Chevrolet vehicles exported to Japan in knock
down kits to be assembled in Osaka. During that time along came
Toyota and they actually completely disassembled a locally built
Master to study the design and determine how to engineer their own
line of vehicles. A lot of design changes occurred throughout the
cars production as the flat grill started to wrap around and
fenders and edges became more rounded. Nowadays those body lines
are the base for some of the coolest street rods on the road. This
1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Tudor town Sedan is a great looking
car that needs nothing but a new garage to call home. The
restoration was a process that started in 2013 and it has continued
to be both improved and maintained since. It comes with a complete
list where the owner has dated and documented everything he has
done to the car whether it be something major like the repaint or
minor like replacing a fuel filter. The car is all steel throughout
and entirely rust free. It has been nicknamed "Purple Haze" after
the iconic Jimi Hendrix Experience song which fits it perfectly.
The car is coated in a beautiful Basecoat Clearcoat paint and the
name? You guessed it, Purple Haze Metallic. It is absolutely
beautiful out in the sun where you can see that pearl really come
alive. A lot of the original components like the front windshield
visor and working cowl are still in place which are very cool
features to see. It even has its original partially acrylic hood
ornament which has to be one of the coolest Chevrolet ever
designed. The glass on the car is good throughout including the
split windshield and has been tinted. The brightwork has a
beautiful shine whether its the chrome bumpers, grill, or stainless
trim. The lights all function correctly and it has Halogen
Headlights up front and an added third brake light in rear. Both
sitting at a car show and rolling down the highway this beauty
looks awesome and rolls on a set of Weld Racing Drag Lite wheels
with Pirelli all season tires.
Mechanically this Street Rod has been road proven and set up so you
can drive it anywhere. The two piece steel hood folds to the center
and reveals the very well built 350 c.i. small block Chevy motor.
It has been fitted with a mild cam, Edelbrock AirGap Manifold, 600
CFM Carburetor, HEI ignition and Hooker headers. Not only does it
run well, it sounds and looks great too. There are chrome and
polished components everywhere you look. Even the heater/AC hoses
are cleanly routed through the engine compartment to feed into a
billet attachment on the firewall. It's clear the car was built
right. The car doesn't smoke and runs cool with an Aluminum
radiator with electric fan. The front brakes have been converted to
disc and to make it a comfortable driver they are power assisted
and it also has power steering. Combined with the motor is a Turbo
350 automatic transmission to transfer power back to the 10 bolt
rear end with 2.73 gears. The 2nd gen Camaro front clip has been
entirely rebuilt and upgraded with Eibach lowering coil springs
with Fatman Tubular A-Arms. It also has custom lowering blocks
added to the rear to achieve the perfect stance.
The interior of the car has been finished out in a two tone light
and dark Gray tweed. It is in great condition throughout. It has
aftermarket front bucket seats with 3 point seat belts and a bench
with 2 point belts in rear. A tilt column has been added and is
topped off with a billet steering wheel. The dash looks good and
incorporates a nice combination of original styling with modern
components. In place of the original speedo a custom bezel was
placed to house white face VDO gauges with LED light indicators. To
avoid cutting up the original dash the Alpine Bluetooth/CD radio
was installed in to the glove box. It delivers a great sound
through Polk Audio speakers and tweeters along with a JL Audio 10
inch subwoofer and JBL amp which are hidden away in the trunk.
Speaking of the trunk it has been nicely finished out and is where
you will find the battery and all your roadside safety gear like
the fire extinguisher, jack, wrench and spare.
In addition to the documentation of the build the car also comes
with a 1939 Chevy Wardlow bra to protect the front end while
driving and a car cover for when you have it stored. This car
really is well put together and has a lot to offer. It has a great
look and is ready to go cruisin' to any car show you want to take
it to.
