Vehicle Description
This 1937 Chevrolet Master Gasser not only gives you the tall
stance of an unmistakably speedy style, but also it has the freshly
built big V8 to make sure the car lives up to its winner's circle
image. And when a fresh build is wrapped around iconic curves, well
then, you know there's style and substance to go with the
speed.
You already know the iconic presence the right business coupe
brings to the show. The moonshiner legacy just seems to go
perfectly with the outlaw style a good gasser has. In fact, this
has a distinct style that gives you a true classic bruiser style on
the outside but with a fresh build underneath the skin. So the
vibrant orange paint has the look of a coupe that's won a few
blacktop battles. The real hint about the level of full investment
is seen in the brightly polished headers peeking out from inside
the fenders. So while it's just a respray away from a show car kind
of style, we like the way the finish drives home the street machine
attitude. After all, you have all the hallmark pieces for a classic
gasser king, like the bright slotted mag wheels, extra-wide rear
set, and even a wheelie bar. And the solid front axle lets this one
sit nice and high. It's that ideal mean machine attitude.
The interior is the right mix of speed and style. The black looks
great against the exterior orange, and you know that because the
vibrant color returns for the dash. The upgraded set of dual bucket
seats is both supportive and comfortable. This business coupe gets
down to speedy business with a full roll cage, B&M shifter,
sport steering wheel, crisp VDO gauges, and a toggle switch panel.
And the large AutoMeter Sport-Comp tach with shift light is mounted
prominently on the pillar like a head-up display.
The engine bay is filled with big block power. We're told the
mechanical parts of this build are so new that they only have
shake-down miles on them, and the tidy look of this motor really
drives that feeling home. It's a 540 cubic-inch V8 that's built
right with a Holley Dominator four-barrel carburetor, a high-rise
intake, cast valve covers, and a wicked set of long-tube headers
that feed the rumbling side pipes. It has the right supporting
pieces, too, like an Optima battery and fuel cell mounted in the
rear for better rear weight distribution. Making sure that all this
power gets to the ground properly is a stout TH400 three-speed with
trans brake, and this feeds a strong 9-inch. There has been a ton
invested in the suspension, including frame bracing and a four-link
rear with diagonal link and QA1 adjustable coilovers. You even have
the superior stopping power of four-wheel disc brakes with drilled
and slotted front rotors.
The sale comes complete with a magazine future on this build. This
