The BMW Z8 Roadster was inspired by the legendary BMW 507 and is

Alpina calls this system, Switch-tronic, and it requires a
specially adapted version of the Z8's standard wire spoke wheel,
which also has an Alpina crest. The shocks are also slightly softer
than the standard Z8 to achieve better ride quality, although
spring rates remain the same.
Powered by a 5.0 liter DOHC 32-Valve V8 engine, developing 394 bhp
@ 6600 rpm and 368 ft. lb. of torque @ 3800 rpm, 5-Speed Automatic
Transmission propels the car to a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds with a
top speed electronically limited to 160.
This Z8 Alpina has had only two owners from new. The original owner
of this Alpina was famous decorator Mr. Bill Diamond. At the time
it was serviced and care for by BMW of Southampton and later, East
Hampton based specialists, Georgica Services. Sold to its most
recent Long Island based collector-owner in 2015, this Alpina has
never left the Long Island Hampton's area from new and has only
been used in seasonal, fair weather conditions. In exceptional
condition throughout, it is a true modern classic, ready to
immediate use and enjoyment.
