1959 Rambler Super American
California car which went to Iowa (2009) for a few years. Very good rust free car.
Back to Pahrump (2019) and stored inside always.
82,000 Miles, rebuilt motor, 2016 ($1147) and 3 speed with OverDrive tranny 2017 ($909) in 2016, new fuel pump, generator, rebuilt carburetor. Re-chromed bumper, guards and license plate ($745). Lots of receipts.
Optional Continental Kit Spare. Super Club Sedan 2 door. Two Tone interior was restored. Paint has been redone also. Things that need attention, dash panel lights and gauges. Heater Push Pull cable replace. Radio doesn't work. Windshield wiper motor. One window crank handle missing (window, seat recline broke). And Gas tank has a dent in it but works ok.
When we got this car I could not believe how smooth and straight it drove down highway. Cruises along at 65mpg in 3rd overdrive all day. AC works great---open wing windows just right :)
Will I just ordered a new water pump, gaskets and thermostat. while cleaning up t-stat area I discovered Someone JB welded crack in head and hide it from me. so I've got to pull head and get it repaired. I have had head welded and pressure tested. machined surface and reinstalled. It is now back on the road in tip top shape.
