1959 Ford Fairlane Galaxie 500 Skyliner Duffy's Classic Cars is
very proud to offer for sale one of the most unique cars built in
the Decade of Decadence, the 50's. It is the iconic 1959 Ford
Skyliner retractable hardtop. Top works great! This particular
example is California built finished in the best of color
combinations, Torch Red over Colonial White and talk about
equipment, this one has it. It begins with the always desirable
power brakes and power steering add to that power windows, power
seat, Philco Am push button radio, with wide white wall tires on
painted steel wheel with Ford hubcaps, stainless skirts, and dual
exhaust. The chrome, stainless, glass, and interior trim are very
nice with some being original and some rechromed, and the underside
is solid. We see these retractables occasionally, but rarely with
this equipment level. Here is your opportunity to enjoy a true
classic that runs and drives and looks good and you can have one
for much less than the cost to build one, and it is ready to enjoy
today. This particular Skyliner is powered by the 352 ci, FE-block
Thunderbird Special V8 - a factory H-code engine. A Holley
four-barrel carburetor and a compression ratio of 9.6:1 provided
the car with 300hp, and the Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic
transmission provided 'whisper quiet' shifting.The special
retractable hardtop vehicles represented a novel innovation and are
once again experiencing interest from manufacturers and automakers,
and these Skyliners are still very much the subject of interest
