Vehicle Description
This 1981 Chevrolet C10 Cheyenne is a true classic. It's a
one-owner vehicle that was treated as a member of the family. Today
that means this is a well-respected and low-mileage truck that has
desirable features like air conditioning. And it even has that
touch of custom style that comes from thoughtfully fun investments
over the years.
We love a good classic truck because they have the feeling like
they were made to last generations. It's why this one is so great
to see. It has stories like the owner bringing home his son from
the hospital in this pickup, and then years later, that son learned
to drive in the same pickup. And this one really shows all the
right signs of a valued member of the family. This has averaged
less than 1,300 miles annually, and the straight panels, complete
trim, and protected bed prove 40+ years of respect. Spending
decades under the same ownership comes with the right care and
investments. For example, when the paint started to look a bit
tired and faded, this truck got a very cool upgrade. In 2018, the
light silver was upgraded to this black and gunmetal gray you see
today. It was a comprehensive upgrade where the two-tone is
separated by a painted red pinstripe. The painted bumpers, blackout
grille, red Chevy bow tie, black trim, and special Cheyenne fender
badges make for an attractive detailed style. The color theme is
unique, but since this even has the turbine-style wheel upgrade, we
also can't help but think of the A-Tram. So this truck is not
copying the show, it just wouldn't look out of place with Mr. T
behind the wheel.
The interior is set up to have some extra style while also being
easy to enjoy on a whim. The bench seat has been upgraded to black
with gray cloth inserts, and it reminds us of the exterior
two-tone, especially with the red seatbelts. There are great
classic truck features, like the sliding rear window, tilt steering
column, and wraparound gauge panel. It even has a working dome
light and cold-blowing factory air conditioning. Plus, an upgraded
AM/FM/XM stereo with USB and Bluetooth gives you proper driving
music.
Under the hood is a classic 250 cubic-inch straight-six. It has the
exact look of honesty you want in a truck with this kind of story.
And when the consignor states it's the original motor, he'd know if
it was ever out of the truck! So while we all know plenty of V8s
that would fit under the hood, it's just more fitting to have this
motor in this pickup with a cool story or one-owner care. And these
inline-six motors are a terrific setup with an inherent smoothness
and a deep well of torque. You take proper control with the
four-speed manual transmission. And features like power steering,
power brakes, and front discs keep this true classic a truly solid
cruiser.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual packet, decades of
maintenance receipts going back to 1981, and the original bill of
sale that proves this has been an Arizona truck sold just a few
miles from our showroom. This is a unique Chevy with a terrific
history. So if you're looking for a real classic pickup, call
