Chevrolet relesed the SS package in 1961 model year and produced
only 453 of these vehicles (RPO option 240) with the following

off, meticulous nut and bolt restoration with a complete drivetrain
rebuild several years ago and is better than factory new, in show
condition. A real gem to a picky collector. Specs: 348 big block,
tri-power, solid lifters (350hp), T10, Borg Warner 4-speed,
posi-rear end. Padded dash, power steering and breaks, heavy duty
springs, shocks, metallic brakes and factory stabilizers on the
undercarriage. 8.00x14, black painted, narrow band ww tires
Steering column mounted Sun 7,000 rpm tach and sender unit from
factory. Super Sports SS emblems on the trunk and quarters. 3-bar
spinner hubcaps, passenger side grab bar below dash, and special
chrome plated 4-speed shifter console from factory. One other
notation, the 1961 SS Impala is the only year that does not produce
repo parts (probably because it's the first year for SS and not
only very rare but sought after as well). These are all original or
nos parts that were used in the build of the car! Please Note The
