Vehicle Description
Consignor's description:
"The 1950 Ford Woodie Wagon is one of the most desirable of the
"Shoe Box" wagons. This 1950 underwent a full frame off restoration
some time ago and shows like new! The metallic Merlot maroon paint
shows as new and covers a near perfect rust free metal body. The
exterior maple and mahogany wood was new years ago and sports many
coats of fresh marine spar varnish. The chrome and stainless shine
like new. The stock 239cc flathead was rebuilt and runs smoothly
and powerfully. The 3-speed overdrive transmission shifts smoothly
and takes the woodie down the road at freeway speeds. The options
include radio, heater, clock and overdrive transmission. The stock
style 3 seat interior is very nice and sports full carpeting. The
radial tires run smooth as silk. This 1950 Ford Woodie Wagon drives
like new and will turn heads wherever the new owner may venture.

Services completed March, 2022 in preparation of the sale included:
new master brake cylinder, greased bearings, new heater core, new
heater control valve.
It's restoration was in the mid 1980s.
I purchased the car in 2014 from Woodies USA.
I'm selling it now because Woodie events are in the summer and I'm
in Colorado all summer and the car just sits in the garage.
I've driven down the coast to San Clemente and Encinitas several
times for car shows and the car never over heated or had any
trouble.
This is a late 1950 model made in the second half (more or less) of
that model year. (Records point to this car rolling off the
assembly line on June 22, 1950.) The second seat folds completely
flat unlike previous models and the tailgate folds completely flat
as well.
Work and features of the car include:
It has Year-of-Manufacture license plates with the correct '50 tag
on the rear plate. These plates go for anywhere from $250 to more
than $500 depending upon their condition.
The clock works. I found in one of the sales brochures that the
clock in the wagon isn't powered electrically but rather hand
wound.
Stock door mounted rear- view mirrors were added for increased
drivability.
The fuel pump and fuel lines were replaced.
The overdrive solenoid was cleaned and service for greater
reliability.
The front brakes have been replaced.
It has new seat belts in the front and second seats.
It comes with period correct luggage (three pieces). I use one to
carry car essentials in. There's a makeup case I bought to carry
the spare parts I was going to purchase if I went on any long
trips.
It has a custom California Car cover. The generator and voltage
regulator were serviced to get maximum 6-volt outputs.
It has a brand new battery as of December 2021.
It comes with a large framed photo showing the car before
restoration. It comes with a shop repair manual and an interesting
parts cost book that shows the prices for parts in early '50's. I
have original sales brochures."
This vehicle is exempt from California smog requirements, comes
with a clean and clear California title.
