This 1979 Ford F-100 has an extra sleek style and a big power 460ci
big block under the hood. There's even an air compressor so that
you can blow the train horns to get lesser vehicles out of your
way. But when you see the thoughtful details - including the A/C
interior - you start to realize the appeal here is much more than
just the bold power.
This truck has nice classic details, like the brightly polished
whole front end that helps draw added attention to the special
square headlight of the '79 F-Series. And the well-creased body
lines give this generation an authoritative style. But it's not the
vintage pieces that first caught your eye. This F-100 loves to
prove it's a cool custom machine. The bright blue paint is a modern
clearcoat application with a nice metallic element. The overall
finish gives proper shine but doesn't take away the driver-ready
feeling. And that's because this pickup really was made to be
enjoyed. It has a cool cruise style with all the trim deleted to
give this a smoother appearance (leaving only the callout for the
big motor on the fenders.) And the sleeker style continues in the
aerodynamic tonneau cover and flush rear roll pan. Plus, those
American Racing Torq Thrust wheels have a 16/17-inch front/rear
setup with larger rear tires and a lowered front end for a very
sporty stance.
The interior was upgraded for comfort and performance. The black
vinyl bench seat can provide a seating space of three, but also has
headrests and a fold-down armrest to be all-day comfortable. And
the door panels, dash pad, and carpeting have a well-done look of a
thoughtful investment. Even the dome light works. You've got the
features you really want like a sliding rear window and
cold-blowing air conditioning. Plus, there's a Highliner headliner
to mount the upgraded speakers as well as the AM/FM stereo with USB
and Bluetooth. And you know this is a powerful pickup with the
three-spoke sports steering wheel, auxiliary readouts, and cool
Moon-style Autogage tach prominently mounted on the steering
column.
There was a big upgrade under the hood. Ford's huge 460 cubic-inch
V8 was expertly installed, and it has the tidy look of a good
investment. It has been upgraded with nice pieces like a Holley
four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and Hooker long tube
headers. Plus, there have been solid investments in supporting
components like a Be Cool aluminum radiator, electric fans,
auxiliary cooling, MSD ignition package, and finned Holley valve
covers. The stout three-speed automatic transmission feeds into a
Ford 9-inch rear with 4.11 gears. There are even traction bars to
keep the quick take-offs feeling confident. The three-inch dual
exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers makes a terrific tune you'll love
to hear on the open road. And this one really is made for driving.
That's why you have power steering, power brakes, front discs, and
the grip of modern Toyo sport tires.
This classic Ford pickup has a powerful style while delivering
upgraded comfort. That's why it's such an irresistible pickup. Call
