For Sale: 1991 Chevrolet Silverado in Ft Worth, Texas

Vehicle Description

Chevy has been making top-notch pickup trucks since the '30s and when you make a gazillion of them, well that's no small amount of practice. Made to withstand all the punishment that a commercial vehicle needs to tolerate, this impeccably preserved 1991 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 pickup appears to have led a very pampered existence. There can't be many that are nicer, let alone with such low mileage, leading us to wonder if it's time for the Silverado to become a genuine collector vehicle. With a great looks, V8 power, and remarkable originality, this dialed-in survivor deserves your full attention.

Onyx Black will always be in style, especially in a pickup truck, and we have to admit that it works especially well on the Chevy C/K series of trucks. Combined with the regular cab and short bed, the Silverado has a sporty demeanor and a great look. It remains in outstanding condition for being nearly 32 years old, and the shiny paint has weathered the years far better than most GM products of the era. There are no notable blemishes, no major road rash, just a few touch-ups here and there that come with the territory on a survivor vehicle, and it's clear that someone really cared for this truck. The silver on the lower portion of the truck is the perfect complement to the black finish, working in unison with lower body molding and wheel well trim to add just the right amount of contrast to this survivor's slick presentation. There was not much factory chrome fitted to these workhorses but what is there remains in good condition, including both bumpers, the oversized side mirrors, and trim around the factory front grille. A hard-shell tonneau cover was added over the bed for a cool custom look, plus you get the benefit of having all your gear protected from the elements. And if you're actually going to put it to work, you'll be happy to find a heavy-duty drop-in 'Pednaliner' back there for protection.

The gray interior is all-stock, but it's also very nicely preserved and in excellent condition when you consider the age of these original GM materials (that admittedly don't have a sterling reputation for longevity). The sculpted bucket seats with high-backs and pronounced bolsters are correct for a Silverado and we just love seeing that familiar cloth-patterned seats in such great condition. The door panels are clean overall, same with the carpet and headliner, and the fact that it's all devoid of any rips or major fading proves that this truck was always babied and stored in a garage away from the ravages of the sun. Sure, it's not perfect inside and you'll find some regular wear-and-tear, but for anyone familiar with these trucks, the overall solid condition of this cabin will come as quite a surprise. Same goes for the crack-free dash and big, comfortable four-spoke steering wheel. The gauges and controls are crisp and bright, and remarkably enough the original AM/FM/Cassette player is still in both factory locations, complete with the original equalizer set-up. Options are plentiful, highlighted with power windows and locks, cruise control, and factory A/C (although the compressor looks to need service). All-in-all, a very comfortable cabin to be seated in, both off-road and on. You also get auxiliary light inside, seatbelts, and a sliding rear window that keeps the cab nice and comfortable.

Open the hood and inspect the nicely detailed engine bay. This Silverado is equipped with the 350 cubic inch V8 (aka the 5.7L V8) that has been fitted to everything from Camaros to, well, pickup trucks. There are plenty of aftermarket performance enhancements for those of you that like to modify your ride, thanks to the longevity and the multi-model placement of this motor. Still, more than enough power available if you choose to leave the motor bone stock and beautiful like this original, numbers matching fuel-injected engine, which other than some expected dirt and signs of use, looks like it just rolled out of the showroom. The 4-speed automatic transmission is also performing without complaint and there isn't a better transmission available to mate to the 350; after all, nobody really wants a manual transmission in their truck, do they? Have a look at the super clean undercarriage, where you'll find no secrets, thanks to a lifetime of easy-living, and again, it offers more proof of this truck's remarkably careful ownership throughout the years. Stock alloy wheels add some flash to the black 4x4, endowing it with a sporty demeanor, and it carries rugged 285/75/16 Falken A/T radials all around, with plenty of tread left to go on each one.

Civilized yet capable, this 1991 Silverado 4x4 is an impressive machine that does it all. It's not often that we see such wonderful preservation on this generation of pickups, let alone with only 84K actual miles and 3 owners since new. These trucks are really starting to catch the eyes of collectors and a clean example like this won't last long. Call today!
