This 993 Turbo S was originally delivered by Burt Smith Porsche,
Saint Petersburg, Florida and shipped to its first owner in Fort
Lauderdale with 11 miles on March 28, 1997. Subsequently, it has
been owned and housed in several Porsche collection throughout the
years and prior its most recent ownership. This previous ownership
has been a very good friend of Autosport Designs and where the
Turbo S has been cared for properly and prior to its recent trade
to Autosport Designs towards another significant vintage
Porsche.
This Turbo S differs from the standard Turbo having been made in
limited production. Only approximately 345 have been manufactured
for the entire world markets with only 183 produced for the US
market.
The 993 Turbo S has larger K-24 Turbo chargers, The Motronic engine
control unit received an electronic upgrade, Addition oil cooler
and the dual exhaust was modified and included Quad round tips vs.
the dual ovals on the standard turbo. This along with a few minor
engine improvements produced 424 hp, 25 hp more than the standard
turbo, it is the last of the traditional air-cooled 911 Turbos.
Motor Trend set a record-setting 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds and the
quarter mile in just 11.9 seconds! The Turbo S was distinguished
from the standard Turbo with Aerokit II front and rear spoilers, a
pair of side-mounted air ducts and additional air inlets near the
headlights.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the fastest, limited
production and most collectable Porsches in history. It is complete
with original books, tools, records, extra key and alarm remotes.
One of Porsche's ultimate supercars and the last air-cooled Turbo
Porsche manufactured. As the English would say...Rather rare
indeed!
