Vehicle Description
This might be the most glamourous Rolls Royce to grace the Earth.
It has been the center of Hollywood fashion and the elite for
decades. It's long nose, sweeping fenders and massive grill
undoubtedly make a statement wherever it is seen, and it has been
seen all over at the most exclusive locations in Hollywood.
Imagine this car in front of a Beverly Hills mansion, but not any
mansion, one owned by one of the most successful film producers
Hollywood has ever seen, Emmy winning billionaire Aaron Spelling.
Aaron Spelling has 232 credits under his name from 1956 through
2006. His fifty year career gave us some of the most popular TV
shows such as Beverly Hills 90210, Charlies Angles, The Love Boat,
Fantasy Island and many more.
Dynasty, produced by Spelling, it was the show that ruled
television during the 1980s. Centered around the Carringtons, a
wealthy family from Colorado. The show starred the biggest stars of
the era, Linda Evans, Joan Collins, Heather Locklear and numerous
more. It displayed the lavish life of the super wealthy in an era
of excess. Much of the shows success was credited to costume
designer Nolan Miller who created all the fashion for the show. In
appreciation of his success Aaron Spelling gifted Nolan his prized
1965 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.
The stately automobile is one of about 200 produced in 1965 and it
quickly became a symbol for Miller and the Hollywood glamour he
helped mold and shape. Miller often chauffeured his celebrity
friends and colleagues in his prized dream car. Passengers included
Spelling, Barbara Stanwyck, Sophia Loren, Joan Collins, Linda
Evans, Lana Turner, and Joan Crawford - many of whom he drove to
various awards ceremonies and red carpet events. In 1999, the QVC
program Extreme Shopping Hollywood offered a $15,000 Dynasty
package that included a trip to L.A., clothes and jewelry designed
by Miller, consultation with him, and - rounding off a full Nolan
Miller experience quite nicely - car service in the form of his
prized Rolls.
Nolan owned the car from the early 1980s until 2010. The car is in
outstanding condition and has only 62k miles on it. It has been on
display in our museum since 2011 as a center piece to our Cars of
the Rich and Famous collection. We can't think of a car with more
star power than this Rolls. However it is time to rotate our
collection and bring new exhibits in allowing the next caretaker to
enjoy this historic piece of Hollywood and automobile history.

the Silver Cloud progressed through continuous development to the
Silver Cloud II in 1959 and then finally Silver Cloud III.
Introduced toward the end of 1962, the Silver Cloud III heralded
mainly cosmetic changes, with the most notable being a new
four-headlamp arrangement. Mechanically, it was claimed that the
6.2-liter alloy V-8 now produced eight percent more power than
before, resulting in an output increase to almost 220 bhp. The
Silver Cloud III sold quite well, with 2,376 examples produced from
late 1962 until October 1965, when the Silver Shadow debuted.
