Vehicle Description
Sleek paint and a beautifully detailed interior give an instant
appeal to this 1966 Volkswagen Beetle. But the shining motor in the
rear also contains a serious upgrade in power. And you even have
upgraded tires and four-wheel disc brakes to enjoy it properly. So
it makes for a classic that impresses for its style and
substance.
The attention-grabbing color you see on this one is called Tangelo
Orange Zest. It's a high-quality PPG color, and as the name
suggests, there is a zesty metallic element that loves to pop in
the sunshine. And this professional application also has a deep
clearcoat luster, and so the result makes the Beetle's curved sheet
metal almost look like liquid as the light rolls across the finish.
And the paint was only the beginning of the investments in this
classic. It has a total look of quality with brightly polished
bumpers, doors that close with confidence, well-fitting full-length
trim, pliable weather-stripping, clean rubber running boards, and
upgraded polished alloys with the classic EMPI GT look. And take a
moment to notice not only that you have custom pinstriping, but
also the colors.
The exterior orange returns inside on the door tops and dash, but
now a two-tone tan takes center stage on the upholstery, door
panels, and headliner. The exterior pinstriping returns on the
dash, and that's where you can really see that those colors are
there to unite the interior. It highlights the extra thought that
went into restoring this VW. The front bucket seats, EMPI
four-speed floor shifter, upgraded VDO gauges, and grippy steering
wheel make for a nice driver's car. And the AM/FM stereo with
Bluetooth hidden in the glovebox gives you better cruising music,
too.
The engine bay is another big reminder of how detailed the
restoration was. After all, Volkswagen didn't even make them this
nice at the factory. The polished firewall, polished fan shroud,
and overall tidy appearance are to make sure this powerhouse is
always ready to be displayed. This is a 2332cc flat-four, and this
is a professional Pat Downs build completed in 2018. Not only do
you get a serious increase in displacement, but this also inhales
deeper with dual Weber carburetors. And a nice set of headers
exhale into a single pipe muffler. We even have the dyno sheet
proving this is producing 180 horsepower. As you look underneath,
this has an extra-clean style where you can recognize the wide
modern sport tires and four-wheel disc brakes that makes this more
powerful Bug a more confident driver.
This Beetle has this iconic look you love, but it also has been
upgraded over every inch to be an awesome custom driver. Call
