No Reserve Classics is proud to present to you our 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302! One BOSS you're going to love! An older restoration to concourse specs and then lived in a museum before coming to us! All the correct factory markings and body stampings are sprinkled throughout this historic time capsule. And not only that, this beautiful Boss 302's provenance is cataloged in the Boss 302 Registry! 1 of 168 highly optioned Boss 302s, how many of these do you think are still around today? A true, collector and investment quality car for those Ford enthusiasts looking to invest into a hard asset that can be driven! A fun history fact: The Boss 302 Mustang was styled by Larry Shinoda, a former GM employee, the name "Boss" was made in honor of the President of Ford, Semon "Bunkie" Knudson, who ironically was the one to hire Shinoda. The Sleek and Bold designs were changed from the 1969 model, deleting some items such as the fake side scoops, and adding functional front and rear spoilers. Made to compete in the SCCA Trans-Am Series, the Boss 302-4V model could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds, and the quarter-mile took 14.6 seconds, reaching a speed of 98 mph - a very impressive feat back in 1970!

Under the hood, with all correct decals, markings and stampings, lies the numbers matching Boss 302-4V Engine. The wide and large port heads with staggered valve placement give the 302 H.O. high power capabilities. Because of the pent-roof design of the heads, the Boss also had forged pop-up pistons. The heads feature steel spring seats, screw-in rocker studs, pushrod guide plates to aid in pushrod stability at high RPMs, and adjustable rocker arms. Fuel was provided by a Holley 780 cu ft/min manual choke carburetor. Ignition was handled by a dual point distributor firing unique AF 32 Autolite spark plugs specified because of their smaller size so as to fit within the tight confines of the combustion chamber alongside the very large valves. The motor produces a unique sound as a result of its solid-lifter configuration. At idle, properly tuned, the engine produced a significant amount of 'chatter' noise. The power output was 290 hp at 5,200 RPM with maximum torque of 290 lbft at 4300 RPM. It had a 6,250 RPM limit. The Boss 302 engine competes well with other high-performance' small blocks', such as the Chevy 302, the Chrysler 340, and the AMC 360. Remember, this was Ford's factory-built racecar that many have bought strictly to race, blew motors left and right, and replaced! This is a very original and correct Boss 302 one can get today!

On the exterior, the J-code Grabber Blue paint is sure to turn heads every step of the way. The iconic blackout hood decals, reflective Boss 302 decals along the side, and the blackout tailpan assure you that this is the real thing! Restored back to its former glory with not only the correct paint color, and interior, but with the matching numbers engine and correct transmission and rear end. Holding this boss down to the road are the set of factory-style 15-inch magnum 500 wheels wrapped in BF good rich Radial T/A white letter tires, which were changed to make give this BOSS a better grip for today's roads. Also included with the sale, are the belt 15" tires with the original wheels and center caps.

On the interior, you will find yourself taking a step back into time! Imagine yourself coming out of high school on a hot summer day, you grab your keys and place them in the ignition and give it a crank. All of your friends are surrounding this super rare G-Code Boss 302! The newly restored seats and dash look just like they just rolled off the showroom floor! The lap-style seat belts strap you in as you are taking corners at top-notch speed! With a simple yet elegant design on the interior, there are no cupholders or center consoles but a simple four-speed Hurst shifter that not only looks great but performs just as well. And although a thing of the past, this BOSS is also equipped with an AM radio, no FM but AM only!

Super strong and stout is not only how this Boss looks but is how the underbody presents itself. The underbody has been fully coated with transparent rust preventative to help aid in preserving this piece of American automotive history. You will notice all of the factory color markings from the front all the way to the rear leaf springs and even the driveshaft. Also included in our picture section are multiple factory stampings, that are not only on the sheet metal itself but even down to the stampings on the leaf spring. This Mustang has American metal and no cheap imitation metal. The competition suspension is super stiff and allows you to give her all she's got through each corner. Although no power steering, you definitely feel one with the road as you give this Boss 302 steering inputs! And the tried, true, and correct Ford 9" rear end lights those rubbers up while not letting the other guy in the other lane pass you by! Additionally, this Mustang was set up with an anti-sway bar that made you take those turns just a bit tighter and more confidently! As always, we highly recommend hiring a Classic Car Inspector as well as a Ford Specialist to inspect, verify it's number matching components, and it's originality before purchasing! Please feel free to set up an appointment with any credible inspector and we'll be more than happy to put this car up on a lift for a thorough comprehensive inspection!
