Vehicle Description
This 1964 Pontiac Grand Prix celebrates the best of vintage style
while also being a proper cruiser for today. So dig into the
details on the numbers-matching V8 power, luxurious hardtop
interior, and distinct single-year color that all make this an
awesome classic.
Sunfire Red was a confusing paint name. In fact, Ford had a similar
color for the Thunderbird that was more accurately called Samoan
Coral. It made for an unpopular GM color, and what that means today
is that this Pontiac is wearing a hue only offered in 1964. And
while not many people optioned it, it really captures the era
correctly. A more recent respray shows how this feels like a world
coming alive in technicolor. These coupes were made to be a nice
mix of premium and performance, and you can see that in the
details. Stacked headlights show off the Wide Track look, the
pillarless hardtop profile has a formal roofline, and the chrome
bumpers hug the form in both the front and rear. The overall
condition of this coupe really shows it's made to be a car you're
supposed to drive and enjoy. That's why there are some well-placed
upgrades. The 18-inch Foose wheels not only enhance the flair, but
they also let you fit better modern tires. And those dual exhaust
tips are connected to a sweet-sounding pair of Flowmaster
mufflers.
The factory-correct parchment interior is a great complementing
color to the exterior, especially when everything is presented as
nice and correct as it is here. The doors, dash, upholstery, and
headliner all share this color for a great uniform appearance.
Plus, there's a deep red carpet. So it's almost like they mixed the
two interior colors to get the unique exterior color. You'll
appreciate the detailed style with working dome light, premium
wood-like trim, and even the GP logo embossed on the rear armrest.
There are nice classic factory features still in place, like the AM
radio and air conditioning (they will need servicing to function
again.) Pontiac made sure these earned the "Grand" part of their
name with bucket seats up front with a comfortable center console
in-between. It has a true easy driver style seen in everything from
the comfortable seat foam to the added temp and oil pressure gauges
under the dash. And we know how much you'll enjoy grabbing the
floor-mounted shifter and watching the center-mounted vacuum gauge
dance as you cruise down the highway.
The engine bay stays faithful to this car's original image right
down to the black air cleaner and turquoise paint on the block. In
fact, the Pontiac Historic Services (PHS) documentation tells us
this is the original 389 cubic-inch V8 block. Topped with a
four-barrel carburetor, this makes the right power and torque to
move this with confidence. Plus, the three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, power brakes with front discs, and
upgraded tires make this a solid driver.
The sale not only comes with the PHS documentation but also a
reproduction window sticker and the owner's manual. So this is a
terrific and distinct rod-owning cruiser offered at an irresistible
price. Call today!!!
