1993-2002): High-powered options returned, including the LS V8,
combined with amplified aerodynamic styling and the best handling
ever for a pony car. -MuscleCar.UK Here's what one '95 Trans Am
owner had to say to Edmunds in May, 2006: Best bang for your buck.
It is truly the fastest thing out there for the price you pay. I
love the way it looks and the performance. My car has blue/green
chameleon paint and it is something to see. Not many other cars
under 50K can outperform my Trans Am. Corvette comes to mind, but I
can't think of any others. Will kick the crap out of mustangs any
day of the week and you can take that to the bank. The pros
definitely out-weigh the cons. Offered here is a 1995 Pontiac
Firebird Trans Am in (code O5U) Medium Dark Purple over Graphite
Leather (code 122,123) under a power-operated black fabric soft
top. According to TransAmWorld.com, out of 56,723 Firebirds
manufactured in the 1995 model year, only some 16,000 were Trans
Ams. Making this particular car even more special: it is one of
just 71 Trans Am convertibles created that year in this striking
purple metallic color. The car's odometer shows 81,039 miles
currently, or roughly 3,000 miles per-year on average since new.
More 1995 Pontiac model-year production data available online at:
http://www.transamworld.com/1995-breakdown.htm The original
exterior paint is in excellent overall condition with high gloss
and smooth-as-glass finish. The only flaws are rock chips on the
front fascia and minor chips on the hood and trunk that have not
been touched-up to retain factory originality. There are no dings,
dents, or other damage to any of the sheet-metal body panels. (To
best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be
sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the
accompanying gallery.) The fabric convertible top is free of rips,
tears, or significant wear. Cabin glass (including on the rear
window) and all lighting lenses (including the front driving lights
and the original smoked rear taillight panel) are clear and free of
cracks. Badging includes the Firebird applique in front,
color-matched Trans AM door emblems, and Pontiac embossing on the
rear bumper cover. Factory 5-spoke, 16-inch, alloy wheels with
ABS-branded center caps are mounted with Cooper® Zeon RS3-A
60-series HR tires. The Trans Am's interior color theme is gray and
it's a perfect complement to the purple exterior. Door panels blend
light-gray vinyl and charcoal-gray hard plastic in a stylish
design. Light-gray carpeting (showing light soiling in particular
in the driver's footwell) covers the cabin floors. Well-bolstered
front bucket and rear 2-person seats are upholstered in light gray
leather with perforated inserts. (Please view the close-up
photography in the gallery to assess the condition of the Trans
Am's various interior surfaces.) A black, 4-spoke, multi-function
SRS steering wheel with Pontiac-logo embossing frames the
comprehensive analog instrumentation characteristic of the Trans Am
package. Instrument and switchgear graphic markings are crisp and
unfaded. The center stack on the black dashboard includes the
factory-mounted audio system above the HVAC controls. The console
hosts the leather-topped t-bar shift handle for the automatic
transmission alongside the emergency-brake handl
