1974 Ford Ranger Pickup Truck
Car History
We have a Candy Apple Red 1974 Ford F-100 Ranger Explorer Package
long bed for sale here at Adventure Classics that was a labor of
love for the seller and has had a full restoration and upgrade,
including rebuilding its original H-Code 390 cubic inch FE V-8
engine and C-6 automatic transmission, repainting it, upgrading
several of the ancillary systems and refreshing the interior.
This F-100, in top-level Ranger trim, is truly a better vehicle
than the one that left the Kansas City plant 48 years ago.
Engine & Drivetrain
Our Ranger has a H in the fourth digit of the VIN that indicates
that this truck was originally equipped with a two-barrel fed
390-cu.in. V-8. The 390 engine in it now was fully rebuilt and
includes Comp Cam roller camshaft, Harland Sharp roller rockers,
polished finned aluminum valve covers, aluminum intake, Holley
performance carb, modified ignition and distributor, performance
spark plug wires, and aluminum open-element air cleaner.
Further enhancements on this Ranger include a PST aluminum drive
shaft, 9-inch Ford rear end with 31-spline axles, 3:25 gears, power
steering and brakes, tube headers flowing into the dual 3-inch
exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers, and it rides on LMR second
generation Lightning 18x9 mag wheels wrapped in new Nitto 29545R18
performance tires, new Monroe shocks up front and KYB's on the
rear. It runs great and can be driven anywhere.
It has the factory C-6 three-speed automatic transmission that
sends power to the rear wheels of this F-100.
Interior
As the top-trim level Ranger, the inside of the truck is just as
handsome as the outside and has been redone featuring primarily tan
soft components like the vinyl full size bench seat and dash pad,
along with tan vinyl on the door panels and armrests.
All of the interior components including the carpet, instrument
panel and all of the aftermarket white-faced gauges looks new.
It has cold-blowing A/C system, sport wood steering wheel with
polished aluminum spokes, ratchet aftermarket floor shifter and
console.
Exterior
This 48-year-old Ford has a great restored paint job in Candy Apple
Red and all of the body and window seals and felts were replaced at
the time the truck was painted.
The inside of the bed matches and all of the exterior chrome and
stainless trim also appears to be in excellent condition as well as
the chrome front and rear bumpers and side mirrors.
