This 1974 Chevrolet Corvette is a great balance of a true classic
with solid investments. For example, you have the numbers-matching
V8 but now with power upgrades. Plus, distinct paint, recent
suspension investments, and the fun of classic Corvette all are
part of a terrific package offered for a value price.
The maroon paint instantly grabs your attention. It has a metallic
element that loves to be a bit more vibrant than colors like the
Dark Red the factory offered in '74. That gives it some nice
distinction without straying from the Corvette faithful. There are
upgrades that add distinction such as the chin spoiler and luggage
rack. There's even a subtle dark side with a matte black on the
windshield top, side mirrors, and accenting the rear lights. And
the polished Vision Legend Series wheels add to the radiant style
and cool stance. It all makes for a coupe that you want to show off
its style, and that's what makes this one so appealing. It will get
you nods of respect from everyone at the intersections, but nothing
is ever too fancy here to stop you from having fun in-between the
stoplights.
The full black interior goes well with the subtle dark elements on
the exterior. And when you take out the T-tops, it really brings
the full package together. High-back bucket seats, a center
console, floor shifter for the three-speed auto, a three-spoke
sports steering wheel, large speedo and tach, and a full set of
auxiliary gauges set at eye level all make this a driver's classic.
The full package looks quite vintage, but you will notice that
there is an upgraded Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input,
Bluetooth, and an awesome stereo speaker system. It makes for
better driving music... and driving is exactly what this car was
made to do.
Under the hood is the numbers-matching 350 cubic-inch V8 small
block. The first impression is a stock look with just some extra
polish on the air grabber and valve covers. But if you dig a little
deeper, you'll see this V8 has been enhanced with nice upgrades
like an Edelbrock intake, Mallory billet distributor, and topped
with a Holley four-barrel carburetor. It's a strong driver, and the
consignor states there have been more investments within the last
few years for you to really enjoy this one. There's a newer power
steering system. The independent rear end has been updated,
including a new transverse leaf spring. And the four-wheel disc
brakes have new calipers, rotors, and a power brake booster. It
makes for a solid anytime cruiser.
