This 1959 Chevrolet 3100 Apache Stepside Pickup is a beautifully
restored restomod truck with all of the greatest customizations
that you could ask for. In the late 50s Chevrolet began to
recognize the importance of and started placing a greater emphasis
on truck styling. As stated in the 1959 truck marketing materials,
"[the truck is] more than income producing machinery. [They are
also] well groomed representatives in the field." Introduced in
October of 1958, Chevy's 1959 truck line remained relatively
unchanged stylistically from the previous year models, which
already had an attractive appearance. Likely the biggest change
between '58 and '59 was the introduction of the new hood emblem
which was more pronounced and ornate. 1959 also saw the
introduction a new body colors and additional trim options.
Chevrolet also continued its use of the "Apache," "Viking," and
"Spartan" class designations in 1959 which corresponded to the
respective two-digit numerical series designations of 31 (light
duty), 40 (medium duty), and 70 (heavy duty). While a stock '59 1/2
Ton Chevy Pickup is always desirable, the Apaches have also become
excellent candidates for being restomodded, due to their highly
appealing looks along with the wide array of parts and upgrades
that are available today, and the desire to have a nicer and more
comfortable riding and driving classic truck. When done right, as
this one is, these trucks are bound to continue to be hot
commodities in the future. This particular '59 Apache comes to us
from a southern based collector who enjoyed and cared for it for a
number of years. Under the hood on this Chevy Pickup is a 383 Cubic
Inch Stroker V8 engine paired with a single 4 barrel carburetor
that creates way more power than what would have come back in 1959.
The 383 Stroker V8 is hooked up to a 700R4 Automatic Transmission
ensuring that just about anybody can take this baby for a spin
around the block. This '59 Apache Truck is absolutely LOADED with
upgrades! For suspension, it has a Mustang II front end with
coilovers in the rear. Rack and pinion power steering has been
added as well to make getting in and out of tight spaces much more
manageable. With power front disc brakes, this '59 Apache has
plenty of stopping power for all that extra muscle under the hood.
The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this pickup truck
is in wonderful shape as well. The exterior on this 1959 Chevy
Apache has been refinished in a beautiful Grenadier Red
basecoat/clearcoat. The steel box and wooden bed are in fantastic
shape as well. Riding on 17 inch American Racing Rims with
235/60R17 radial tires, this Chevrolet 3100 has a great look and
even better ride. The interior on this '59 Chevy has all been
re-done and is also totally loaded with upgrades! The bench seat
has been beautifully reupholstered in gray vinyl. The dash, door
panels, and steering wheel have been painted in a two-tone
Grenadier Red/Silver paint scheme that ties together the exterior
and interior look of the truck. The steering column has been
upgraded to an Ididit unit with tilt steering adding to the comfort
of this Apache Pickup. Air conditioning was added as well so that
you can stay cool cruising down the road. The instrument cluster
has been upgraded to a Dolphin Gauges setup complete with a 140 MPH
speedometer, volt gauge, temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge,
fuel gauge, and digital odometer. Additionally, an Autogage 8,000
RPM tachometer is mounted under dash. A Retrosound AM/FM
Entertainment System was added as well so that you can listen to
all of your tunes rolling down the road. Whether you're adding to
