Vehicle Description
If you love classic trucks, then this 1986 Ford F-250 XLT 4x4 will
get you excited. It has a ton of terrific vintage details to keep
it a cool survivor-style machine. But they also made the right
worthwhile upgrades to keep this a great driver/worker. And there's
more to this truck's story. It's a two-owner F-Series where the low
odometer represents the full actual mileage. So while this big
block pickup can get to work, it's pretty darn comfortable just
filling the long bed with trophies.
This Ford is wearing the correct Dark Canyon Red and Colonial White
two-tone. While this has only averaged about 560 miles annually, it
has still been given a high-quality respray. And that's the overall
theme of this truck: less use and solid investments. So it makes
for an impressive vintage machine. A big block F-250 has a
large-and-in-charge kind of presence. That's why it looks great
with boldly shining upgrades like the billet grille, polished bull
bar, big dual exhaust tips, HD rear bumper, and 16-inch Ultra
wheels. There's also plenty of function to go with the flair. You
have the tall 4x4 stance, top running lights, and tow mirrors. And
while the long bed means an extra duty kind of style, it has the
same straight and clean presentation as the rest of this pickup. So
this workhorse feature is now really a great showpiece on this
classic truck.
The interior continues the exceptional vintage style. The smooth
stock dash, correct red knit inserts for the seat, rugged rubber
floor, nice door panels, and crisp factory gauges takes your senses
on a time machine to 35 years ago. And you can especially feel
nostalgic when you open up the rear sliding glass to get breezes
through the cab from the old school way. While truly vintage, there
are a few of the right detail upgrades to make this a better
driver. You have tinted windows and an AM/FM CD stereo. And the
added tach can be especially handy if you decide to use this F-250
for any towing work.
Despite how pristine this pickup is, we keep mentioning taking on
big jobs. That's because this big blue oval pickup has a big 460
cubic-inch V8 under the hood. It's an era-correct block that is
believed to be original to the truck, and it has the right decals
to look quite stock. It's a well-kept strong-running pickup that
inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor. The stout C6
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power
brakes with discs up front make for a great anytime driver. The
included Marti Report shows features like skid plates, a tow
package (with rear sway bar), and a 4.10 limited-slip rear end.
Those are great features for getting to work. And the two-speed 4x4
transfer case means this F-250 can really pull extra duty.
You're highly unlikely to turn this truck into your workhorse
because it's just too handsome for that. But we love the idea of
such a rugged-built 4x4 that has survived and thrived to be a true
pretty pickup. So if you love a great classic with an awesome
pedigree, call today!
