Vehicle Description
This 1996 Chevrolet Blazer has spent most of its life thus far
under the same owner, and that has given this the right mix of
preservation and investments. This includes a loaded leather
interior with A/C, a useful 4x4 setup, and fresher fuel-injected
power. It's all brought together in a right-size SUV.
The consignor bought this Blazer in 1998, and so that means nearly
a quarter-century under the same ownership. It's an easy vehicle to
own and love in premium LT trim. The factory gave this a detailed
style with Cherry Red on top and an Ultra Silver two-tone that
artfully flows over the flared fenders. There's even a matching
silver pinstripe. There are more premium details like the 15-inch
alloys, roof rack, and split tailgate. You'll find wear, dings, and
faded spots just from some use, but that's not this Blazer's full
story. The panels have the kind of fit that really shows proper
respect. And there have been the right investments. For example,
the odometer shows the actual mileage, but it had a Jasper crate
motor installed a few years ago and only about 25k miles have been
put on it since then. There are also nice accessories, like the bug
guard, full running boards, and Euro-style tail lights. It means
you have the right investment to have this one looking and feeling
fresher, and that makes for a solid driver that's also maturing
into full classic status and distinction.
The silver lower section of the paint theme is also a preview of
the silver/gray interior. This has been driven, but just like the
exterior, there's an overall level of completeness that shows it
has been owned with care. That's why it still feels like a quality
driver. It's also attractive because you have excellent driver
features. There are high-back front bucket seats, a
power-adjustable driver's side, a grippy airbag steering wheel
mounted on a tilt column, and a full gauge package with large
speedo and tach. As a premium LT-level Blazer you get plenty of
premium features, including power windows, power locks, power
mirrors, the Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo (now with added CD
changer,) and cold-blowing air conditioning. This also has both a
cup holder center console and an overhead storage console. There's
adult-sized room in the rear, and the clamshell tailgate is great
for everything from loading cargo to sitting on the back at
ballgames.
Under the hood is the correct-style 4.3-liter V6, but as we hinted
before, this fuel-injected Vortec motor is also a fresher
powerhouse. It was the largest and final evolution of the S-10
Blazer line, and so it's the one you really want. Its healthy
torque reputation gets you going from stoplights with a nice
hustle, and it's also great when it's time to get any work done.
This is a true 4x4, and the two-speed transfer case is engaged via
buttons on the dash. So you never have to get out and lock hubs if
you decide to hit the trails. But this is made for more than just
the off-road life. That's why there's a four-speed automatic
transmission with highway-friendly overdrive and cruise control.
And power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a comfortable
ride make for great any-time driving appeal.
