1974 CHEVROLET VEGA ESTATE WAGON C-896 The Pontiac Astre is a
subcompact, four passenger automobile produced by the Pontiac
division of General Motors. Essentially a re-badged Chevrolet Vega,
the Astre was introduced in Canada for the 1973 model year, sold
there exclusively through 1974. The Astre debuted in the U.S. for
the 1975 model year competing with other domestic and foreign
subcompact cars including the Mercury Bobcat and Toyota Corolla.
Built on the H-body platform, Astre's two-door model range included
a Hatchback coupe, Notchback sedan, Safari wagon, and Panel
delivery. The Astre shared the aluminum-block 2.3 liter inline-four
engine with the Vega through 1976. This is an original low mileage
(34,985) miles verified on title on 1/12/2022) time capsule 1974
Chevrolet Vega Safari Estate wagon. It is solid, undamaged with all
original body components and rust free. Loaded with all available
options for its time. Dual mirrors; automatic transmission; air
conditioning ( on a Vega go figure ) ; sport steering wheel ;
clock; am/fm stereo radio ; wheel rims; full carpet, rear
defroster, roof rack, dual mirrors and wood grain Safari trims. The
car has been well maintained and features recent new radial tires,
all fluids have been flushed and replenished. The car has been
tuned up and all maintenance items have been taken care of. The car
starts right up; runs and drives well; stops easily. Everything
works except the clock. The car is rust free top to bottom. Clean
and underneath with no evidence of rusting or damage. Paint is
exceptional and nice. This is an unrestored original time capsule.
