Vehicle Description
STK 3151 1963 MGB
The British Leyland MGB was a pure two-seater roadster that made
much better use of the interior space than the earlier MGA. It also
had a somewhat softer suspension that provided a smoother ride
along with a slightly larger engine that furnished a higher top
end. This 1963 MGB has been fully restored to the highest of
standards - virtually better than new. Most of the restoration work
was done in conjunction with MG, Ltd. - a noted MG restorer. The
owner has furnished a full-color 20-page hardcover booklet that
documents the full restoration process that was completed in 2020.
The entire car was disassembled and all metal panels/components
that were fatigued were replaced. The body was beautifully
refinished in Old English White and all chrome is outstanding. The
interior was completely redone and the black Moss leather seats may
well be the most comfortable MGB buckets around. A new dash was
installed and fitted with Nisonger restored gauges (MPH speedo).
There is a stunning wood wheel, new grey soft top (manual), new
window glass and a new complete wiring harness. The five
main-bearing 1798cc engine was totally rebuilt by MG, Ltd. The
4-cylinder utilizes the stock dual carburetor setup and sounds
great through a coated header exhaust system. Cooling requirements
are managed by an aluminum radiator w/flex fan. An aluminum
flywheel engages the four-speed (2,3,4 synchronized) manual gearbox
that is fitted with the rare overdrive option that functions
perfectly. The transmission and rear differential were also
completely rebuilt by MG, Ltd. A spotless chassis is fitted with
new suspension components, fuel tank and new manual disc/drum
brakes. General Altimax R/T performance radial tires are mounted on
14" MiniLite Minator alloy wheels. This little 'B' roadster does
the famous MG brand proud. - move post-haste. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS
IS".
