You are looking at my first car bought by my father when I was 16 in 1998. This 1987 Formula Trans Am has been rebuilt and restored from top to bottom. It runs perfectly. The interior of this Firebird is 100 percent Leather. You won't find a Firebird like this in the world. The odometer stopped functioning at 187546 Miles in 2016. However the new engine has roughly 45,000 Miles. I put 20,000 miles on the new motor up till 2016 and averaged about 4,000 miles a year since then. The car is garaged and barely driven. 4 pumps on the gas pedal in the morning and the car starts perfectly. It has a GPS tracking system for theft in it so if it isn't being driven for a while its best to have it on a charger or you should disconnect the positive terminal of the battery so that the GPS tracker doesn't drain the battery. If the car isn't going to run for 5 days or more you should consider that.
Fun Details :
-It has won over 3 best of show awards and over 50 individual awards in the last 10 years at Firebird shows all over Washington State.
-The interior is 100 percent hand stitched leather from top to bottom. The interior is 99 percent flawless.
- All weather stripping has been replaced with new original stock parts.
-The front and back seats are out of a 2002 transam and also has custom white embroidered head rests on both front seats. The driver seat has the automatic electric seat features installed that came with the 2002 models seats. The headliner, visors and entire interior including all plastic stock panels are fully wrapped in Black Italian leather. The only interior flaw is a baby (minor) crack on the dash which you won't even notice.
-The motor is a 350 Bowtie 4 barrel Carb engine with 300 HP. It has a Weiand High Rise Intake manifold and an Edelbrock 650 4 barrel carb. American Racing headers, with customized dual exhaust. Car has MSD Ignition system. Runs perfectly.
-Brand new brakes and tires
- Brand new rear air shocks, idle arms, and front suspension
- Rebuilt 700 R4 transmission (strong smooth shift) (Automatic)
-The car has a nice paint job, not perfect with a few flaws but nothing major. The body is 100 percent straight.
-The front flip up lights were replaced with an aftermarket setup that looks and functions 10 times better then the stock flip ups.
- Everything is fully functioning with power windows and custom power seats.
- Cd player with fully legit sound system.
These are a list of the things that could be addressed
- Hood is very heavy because of the viper esc hood scoop that needed to have bondo added to make it work. Causing the brand new shocks that hold the hood up to not be able to support the weight of the hood without some sort of propping device. I did consider replacing the hood with a custom fiberglass hood but i think this hood scoop is just way to cool.
- Car has the AC unit taken out. No AC.
Feel free to ask any questions. I have spent well over 25,000 getting this car to look and drive the way it does.
