We love a good 1965 Shelby Cobra, especially when it comes from the
masters at Factory Five. But what really gives this one its
distinction are all the extras it offers. Fuel-injected V8 power,
the soft top, and air conditioning (yes, A/C in an AC Cobra!) are
all part of a thoughtfully done driver's package.
The color on this one is distinct. We rarely see these done in
solid green. It reminds us a bit of British Racing Green, which is
a cool nod to the AC legacy part of the Cobra story. There is a
clean and complete look where it shows the kind of less use you'd
expect from a build with under 9k miles on it. The light rolls
smoothly across the fiberglass body. This shows off everything from
the curvy fenders to the hood scoop with distinction. Chrome roll
hoops, push bumpers, wind wings, Halibrand-style wheels, and
growling side pipes complete the authentic appearance we like.
The interior gets the classic Cobra competition-style right with
Simpson racing harnesses, a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel, and
newer low-back bucket seats. And your dash is dominated by crisp
AutoMeter gauges. But you'll find something more here, too. We love
Cobras for the look of raw speed they provide, but this one also
gives you some more comfort upgrades. After all, when was the last
time you saw cold-blowing air conditioning in a Cobra? The full
soft top and side curtains are there to not only keep the wet
weather out, but on this special one, there may even be a few days
when you want to keep the cool weather in. There are cup holders
because you may want to bring your own java to cars & coffee.
Under the hood is Ford 5.0-liter V8. We love these when they are
properly done with fuel injection to give them the best in power
and consistency. So while we're not suggesting that you can use
this Cobra as a daily driver, you also realize this one is
correctly equipped where there's nothing really stopping you. After
all, can't you just imagine showing up to the office with the
header-fed with the side pipes growling? That's better motivation
than any morning team meeting. But where this Five-Oh really does
its best work is out on the track. It combines with the five-speed
manual transmission, strong tubular steel frame, Factory Five
three-link rear suspension, and power brakes with front discs. This
delivers a powerful and confident driving experience.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and service manuals.
This is the distinct Cobra that you can have fun with on a track
day, or just skip it all and have more fun keeping cool on a sunny
Sunday drive. Call now!
