late '60s and early '70s Chevrolets. And that goes double for
something as undeniably immutable as a storied Action Line pickup.
This striking C10 is a solid road warrior that's been subjected to
a detailed, frame-off restoration. The truck's paint is
unequivocally stylish, with glossy clear sealing a worldly blue
base. And a retro white 'face' leads a roster of choice details.
Those details begin with a polished bumper, which tilts stainless
valence trim around a Custom-spec grille, Custom-spec headlights
and a classy red bowtie. At the edges of that grille, a sleek
profile floats factory mirrors and factory door handles amid clean
markers, Custom-spec rocker trim and more snazzy red bowties. Those
mirrors reflect a stainless-trimmed greenhouse, which rides between
polished wipers and a painted bed that features a cleverly
relocated fuel filler. And at the back of the truck, a second
polished bumper props more stainless valance trim around a stamped
tailgate and factory taillights.
POWER FOR MILES
Toss this Chevy's hood and you'll find an even six liters of tough
Vortec power that spins smooth torque into miles of open-road
reliability! At the front of that proven small block, a remote
K&N filter funnels wind into a polished tube, which fronts a
factory GM throttle body. A factory intake sends a finely tuned
mixture of fuel and air into sturdy 317 heads, which float factory
valve covers under a factory shroud. Those stock, aluminum heads
cap a stock, factory-spec rotating assembly. A fluid serpentine
drive spins modern power steering opposite modern air conditioning
and a modern alternator. Factory coils fire familiar Belden plug
wires, which split stainless shorty headers. Everything stays cool
thanks to an aluminum Champion radiator. And the fully sorted mill
rides in a clean, methodically painted engine bay.
OPTIMIZED FOR ENJOYMENT
Bottom-side, a smooth 4L60E 4-speed twists speed to a 12-bolt rear
axle that's finished with fun, street-friendly gears. That proven
powertrain pushes a factory frame that's stacked on a Belltech 4/6
Drop Kit. Modern power steering makes parking easy and turns a
cinch. Stops come courtesy of power-assisted discs and drums. The
aforementioned headers feed aluminized pipes, which thread welded,
dual-chamber mufflers. And at the edges of the floor, sweet Billet
Specialties Speedways spin snazzy Hankook redlines.
BLUE HOUNDSTOOTH!
Much nicer than simple factory fodder, this C10's supple leather
cockpit flows well with its subdued but stylish exterior. A
retrofitted bench stretches killer Blue Houndstooth between custom,
Blue Houndstooth side panels. A stylish dash elevates a thin pad
above modern climate control, direct-fit audio and crisp Dakota
Digital VHX telemetry. Color-keyed carpet provides a pop of class.
And the driver spins a familiar Chevrolet Rally Wheel around a
modern, tilting column.
