This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS tribute has only been driven only
about 5,500 miles since its frame-off restoration, and so it has a
sharp-looking style with plenty of iconic features. But that's not
what you really love. Instead, what has your eye are the restomod
upgrades with the custom interior, power windows, four-wheel disc
brakes, and the five-speed... oh yeah... the serious power from the
supercharged V8 under the hood!
There were many reasons to love the 1969 Camaro because it had some
exclusive touches that weren't even shared with other first-gen
years. Chevy seemed to enhance the speedy appearance of what looked
like vapor trails shooting off the fenders. Plus, the Rally Sport
hidden headlight front end was the most distinct ever, and this was
the debut of the cowl hood. So this one makes sure to upgrade these
so the coupe is absolutely noticed. Another great 1969 exclusive
was the Daytona Yellow paint. So this was upgraded to the
extra-bold color during the restoration (even the undercarriage is
clean and bold.) Not only is this almost vibrant enough to glow in
the dark, but it makes for a great way to showcase the black
Z/28-style racing stripes. The black front spoiler, D80 rear
spoiler, bright chrome bumpers, and polished American Racing
17-inch Torq Thrust wheels are all part of a package that look
crisp, clean, powerful, and absolutely awesome.
The interior gets even bolder with the custom two-tone upholstery.
While the bright yellow catches your eye, you'll also eventually
recognize the added style and substance. It's in everything from
the cool Rally Sport stitched in the seatbacks to the modern sports
car bolstering. You'll also appreciate luxury features like power
windows and an AM/FM/CD stereo with aux input for your iPod. There
are more upgrades that are nicely integrated, like the classic
sports steering wheel that's now on a tilt column, and a modern
shifter is now in the center console. Plus, there's not only the
auxiliary readout quad pack on the center console, but now the
ashtray just above them holds a boost gauge. It gets you ready for
something special under the hood.
The engine bay has the kind of presentation that will make you
proud to lift the hood at car shows. It's exceptionally well
presented with the color-matched firewall, smooth black inner
walls, and plenty of polished components of the V8 heart. You've
got a powerful 350 cubic-inch V8 that has been enhanced with an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Weiand intake, and aluminum
heads. And of course, there's a Weiand blower in the middle of it
all to supercharge this power package. It's supported by great
pieces, like an MSD pro billet distributor, steel braided lines
with AN fittings, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.
This is a terrific power package, and it knows how to announce it
with Hooker headers feeding a 3-inch stainless exhaust with
MagnaFlow mufflers. And the upgrade to a five-speed manual
transmission means you get to take better control over its power
and soundtrack. Add in power steering, modern sport tires, and the
four-wheel power disc brakes to give you confident control of this
enhanced coupe.
This Camaro has a bold style inside and out that gets it noticed,
and the supercharged power means no one will forget it. Call
