With its big V8, distinct factory color combo, and absolutely
legendary tailfins, it's hard not to get excited about this 1960
Cadillac Series 62 Convertible. And this example is nicely detailed
right down to the button-top presentation of the interior. So it
makes for an awesome iconic cruiser.
This is often seen as the perfect year for a Caddy convertible. The
iconic tailfins were toned down from their peak in '59 where the
sleeker style made these classics appear a whole lot sportier.
Plus, you still had the jewel-like grille, fender skirts,
whitewalls, and ornate rear bumper that are all part of the legend.
And it's with so many memorable elements all on one car, it's great
to have this convertible looking so complete - right down to
details like the factory-style wheel covers. Inverness Green was
only around for a couple of years at Cadillac, but this
factory-correct color just seems to capture the era perfectly with
a pastel-like brightness. A quality respray gives it a beautiful
gloss and radiant metallic element to let the sunshine really show
off the quality of the sheet metal. And of course, it's always nice
to have a convertible that glows in the daylight. This whole car
has a thoughtful and premium style, right down to the dark green
roof that gives this an added dose of sophistication you want in a
show-worthy classic.
As much as we like the look of this with the roof in place, power
down to reveal an even more impressive interior. After all, the
trim tag tells us this is the factory-correct green interior. It
harmonizes so well with the exterior color, and they even restored
it to make sure the material is supple. The detailed door panel,
loop carpeting, smooth dash pad, and fully finished trunk are all
part of this exceptional style. In fact, you'll even love the
details, like the clear gauges, working courtesy light, and AM
radio that's still cranking out tunes. These were loaded with the
best features, including power locks, power vent windows, and power
seat - they will just need servicing and/or components to function
again. Plus, the power windows and power convertible top mean
opening up to the world is quite a simple task. And you just know
this was made for cruising. The driver has a fold-down armrest for
individual comfort, and the two-tone dual-spoke steering wheel
feels awesome in your hands.
Cadillac's 390 cubic-inch motor fills this engine bay properly with
big V8 power. Just like the rest of the car, it has a classic style
mixed with proper care. So it fires up eagerly as it inhales deeply
with the four-barrel carburetor. It's a strong-running powerhouse,
and that makes this Caddy a nice cruiser. Plus, you have the right
easy driving features, like power steering, a Hydramatic automatic
transmission, and power brakes. They even gave you well-placed
driver upgrades like front disc brakes and a modern treat behind
the classic whitewalls.
Those bullet-like ends in the grille, razor-sharp tailfins, and
plenty of length to develop those silky smooth lines - this is
style for style's sake. Rolling sculpture like this is getting
harder to find every day. So don't let this iconic drop-top slip
away. Call now!
