Vehicle Description
1979 Ford Ranchero GT Custom
The Ranchero is a coupe utility vehicle introduced in 1957. They
were very different than the pickup trucks because they were
adapted from the 2 door station wagon and integrated the cab and
cargo bed into the body. This provided the sleekness of your
passenger car with the usefulness of a truck bed. This style of
vehicle became very popular all over the world especially in places
like Australia where they are referred to as "Utes." The Ranchero
was the first postwar American vehicle to follow this design and it
was clear Ford was successful and sold enough to influence GM to
make a competitor with the El Camino in 1959. 1979 was the last
year for the American version of the Ranchero which concluded with
the seventh generation. This cool '79 has been "murdered out"
meaning a majority of the exterior components have been painted
Black. The body is solid and in good condition. It is painted all
Matte Black. The front and rear bumpers are gloss Black and a
majority of the trim pieces like the taillight trim and even the
emblems are painted Black as well. The glass is in good condition
throughout and has been tinted. The rear bed has Black rhino liner
to keep it protected and in good condition. The wheels are American
Racing Torq Thrusts with Gray centers and BF Goodrich tires.
