Vehicle Description
1966 Ford Mustang Fastback Shelby GT350 Tribute
Why This Vehicle is Special
The first generation Mustangs created a whole new type of car that
America was waiting for, the Pony Car. It had styling with a long
hood and short deck, was sporty, and was in the buying range that a
lot of people, both young and old could buy.
Top of the performance Mustangs back then were the famous Shelby
Mustangs that now command a six-figure price if you can find one
for sale.
We have a more affordable option here at Skyway Classics today, a
restored 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback Shelby GT350 Tribute.
When you see this Mustang you will see the bright red paint with
white racing stripes and GT350 side stripping and badging with the
hood scoop with hood pins, 5-spoke alloy wheels, and a dual exhaust
system peering out of the rear.

Mechanical
The restored engine in our Mustang is a 289 cubic inch V8 with
plenty of horsepower from the factory and looks great with the Ford
blue paint on the engine block, heads, and intake, chrome valve
covers, chrome lid on the air cleaner assembly with the 289 High
Performance decal in place, air conditioning, factory cast iron
exhaust headers, and modified electronics.
It is mated to an automatic transmission and sits in the clean and
detailed engine compartment looking just as it would have back in
that period with a great sound emanating from the rear tips of the
dual exhaust system.
Interior
The interior is all restored and looks as nice as it did when it
was brand new. It has the factory twin red Mustang vinyl buckets up
front and the matching red rear seat, dash, seat belts, carpet,
floor mats, and door panels.
Some neat attributes of the interior are the wood steering wheel,
chrome shifter on the floor, aftermarket center console, pushbutton
radio, and red Mustang floor mats.
It also has the factory red instrument panel that has all the
correct factory gauges and features a 140-mph speedometer.
The trunk has also been given a factory look with the factory
correct trunk mats and the full-size spare tire too.
Exterior
Our Mustang has that bright red paint job on those iconic Mustang
lines and accented by the full length white racing stripes from the
lower front all the way to the top of the rear bumper.
It has the blacked out grille and out back the unique fuel filler
cap on the panel between the tail lamps, with dual exhaust exiting
underneath.
Our Mustang rides on the chrome and polished 5-spoke wheels on
performance black sidewall tires with this wheel and tire
combination totally giving it the classic pony car look.
