Vehicle Description
This 1980 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 is a Z-car with a very cool color
combo. And while you're going to love the original style features
that make this a great classic, you're also going to spot plenty of
recent investments within the last year that makes this an even
better driver's classic.
We really love the style of this Camaro. It's from the few years in
the later second-gen where they took away the chrome, and in its
place, they integrated more nearly seamless angles into the design.
The silver paint is a timeless color, and so it helps this coupe
straddle a vintage look with modern driving appeal. In fact, it has
the right balance of a good shine while still never making you
nervous about driving it. Plus, black always goes great with
silver, and it fully accents this car. The grille, headlight
bezels, and rear panel are all part of this dark package. And of
course, the stripes are legendary. These triple-tone streaks sweep
under the front spoiler and run down the sides. The air induction
hood, full-width rear spoiler, and even the Z28 badging all get a
similar striping package to give this Camaro a uniform look of a
cool classic. But as you check out the full package, you can also
see the right well-placed additions for a better driver. The LED
headlights will illuminate the road better, and when not in use the
black background goes well with the grille. The B/G Rod Works
wheels have a classic design and a gray that harmonizes with the
color theme. But their modern 17-inch size means getting to fit
better modern tires.
The blue interior is another distinctive feature, because after
all, we're used to seeing Camaros with black on the inside. And the
included factory buildsheet tells you this one was born this way!
So the blue keeps a dark tone but with a more unique touch. This is
a highly original presentation, and that means you get some cool
classic features. It's seen in places like the velour high-back
bucket seats with distinctive striping on the headrests, the Z28
badging in the door panels, and the corded grip of the NK4 sports
steering wheel. This has some great factory features, like power
windows, a tilt steering column, full gauges, and the
AM/FM/cassette stereo is a rare option for the time. Plus, the
added auxiliary readout trio lets you keep an even better eye on
what's going on under the hood.
The engine bay has a very vintage look, right down to the air
intake that seals to the fresh air hood. But there are also some
added secrets here. This is a replacement 350 cubic-inch V8, and so
while this is believed to be an actual mileage car, the heart is
believed to be a bit fresher than stock. It still inhales deeply
with a Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. But now it exhales with
added power and authority from long tube headers that feed the
stainless X-pipe dual exhaust. Nice recent e tune-up items keep
this is a strong-running V8, and it's mated to a smooth-shifting
three-speed automatic transmission. That makes for a great driver.
And when you look underneath, you'll see a freshly upgraded front
suspension that includes tubular control arms, QA1 coilovers, and a
thick sway bar. There's also power steering, power brakes, front
discs, a rear sway bar, QA1 rear shocks, and grippy ZR-rated
tires.
Not only does the sale come with the factory buildsheet, but also
the original warranty card, reproduction window sticker, service
manuals, owner's manual, and some Camaro promo literature. It all
makes for a cool Z28 that loves to hit the road to show off its
history. So if you like driving a true classic, call today!
