For Sale: 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL500 in Gold Canyon, Arizona

Vehicle Description

This garage-kept 2003 Mercedes-Benz SL 500 is a luxury hardtop convertible that was produced in Germany in February of 2003 and offers seating for two in a cabin furnished with power-adjustable leather bucket seats; woodgrain trim; and an infotainment system with a color LCD screen, navigation, and Bose audio. On the outside, it comes equipped with fog lights, headlamp washers, chrome wheels, and dual exhaust outlets. Power is supplied by a 5.0-liter V8 and sent to the road through a 5-speed automatic and the rear wheels. Finished in black with a matching retractable hardtop over a gray leather interior, this R230-series Mercedes SL is available now and comes with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title in the seller's name. A transferable extended warranty with approximately 27 months of remaining coverage is available.

For the 2002 model year, Mercedes-Benz released an all-new, fifth-generation SL roadster with rounder styling than its predecessor, a standard retractable hardtop, and updated convenience and safety features. This 2003 SL 500 comes finished in black with a body-color grille, bumpers, trim, mirror caps, door handles, and electro hydraulically retractable hardtop, which came from the factory with the ability to lower in 16 seconds. Features include fog lights, vented front fenders, LED turn signal repeaters on the side mirror housings, a glass rear window, monochromatic taillamps, and dual chrome exhaust finishers.

There is room for two in the two-tone cabin, which features a black and gray dashboard, matching door panels and center console, and gray leather bucket seats and carpeting. Woodgrain trim is located on the door panels, center stack, and center console. Comfort features include power seat controls, dual-zone climate control, and a foldable wind deflector. Conveniences come in the form of audio and phone controls on the leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, and an infotainment system with a color LCD screen, navigation, and Bose audio.

The gauge pod contains a 160-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and readouts for the coolant temperature and fuel level. According to the seller, the digital odometer currently shows 34K miles, which is in line with the last mileage figure entered on the CARFAX report in August of 2021.

Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 that generated 302 horsepower and 339 lb.-ft of torque when new and enabled the SL 500 to hit 60 mph in a track-tested 6.1 seconds. It sends its output to the road through a 5-speed automatic and a rear differential with 2.82:1 gearing.

The SL is based on an independent 4-link front and a 5-arm multilink rear suspension with anti-dive geometry supplemented with Active Body Control, which combines coil springs, electronically controlled hydraulic cylinders, and shocks to combat vibration, pitch, dive, squat, and roll. Steering is managed by a speed-sensitive power-assisted rack-and-pinion setup.

The CARFAX report goes back to March of 2003 and shows an accident-free vehicle history in California and Arizona. The car is available with a transferable extended warranty with approximately 27 months of remaining coverage. The cost of the warranty is extra.
