Vehicle Description
As the story goes, a chipper young man, freshly graduated from
School purchases a new BSA A65 Lightning Rocket as a gift to
himself. After a short time in ownership, the man gets drafted and
has to part with his beloved motorcycle. The bike was kept by his
parents in their business until the time came to part with the bike
in the early 80's. The motorcycle found a new home in the hands of
a collector who took great care in having the bike on display and
running it from time to time. Covering only 2,604 miles since new,
this is the pinnacle of Collector Grade BSA A65 Lightning Rockets.
This example spent the last 2 years on display in The Throttlestop
Museum. It is now time for a new caretaker to enjoy this
masterpiece of motorcycling history!
This example is absolutely stunning, the original paint, the
brightwork, instruments, etc., are all in pristine condition. We
did take the liberty to fire up this bike recently and much to our
surprise, it is one of the nicest running British bikes we have
ever seen. This A65 Starts, runs and sounds outstanding!
This is one you don't want to miss!
