For Sale: 1967 Volvo 122 in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

This 1967 Volvo 122 S is the right kind of restored classic that looks good inside and out while still remaining ready to hit the road. So when you're looking for a distinctive car that's also unmistakably an appealing driver, you need to get to know this Swedish sedan.

The Volvo Amazon is one of the best designs to come out of the 1960s. It's unmistakably Swedish with sturdy lines, but all the edges seem to be rounded with an artist's touch. You can see them so cleanly here because this sedan was restored in 2015. It's nicely detailed with bright chrome bumpers, the classic Volvo grille, classic mud flaps, and full-length trim. And all four doors close with the kind of confidence that reminds you Volvo builds secure cars. We particularly like the paint. The trim tag tells us this was born a red car, but there was also $3,500 invested in the respray alone. It has a nice gloss in the sunshine and looks like it has only been responsibly driven since its restoration.

Classic car fans will really appreciate the highly original style of the interior. The brown cloth upholstery is an upgrade from the stock black, but it's done with the simple elegance that you expect from Swedish design. The door panels, dash, carpet, and headliner all have the good look of being only a few years off the restoration. And you'll appreciate the details everywhere from the design of the steering wheel to the working dome light. It makes for a very inviting vintage atmosphere. In fact, the only upgrade over stock you may recognize is a handy oil pressure gauge under the dash. And don't forget, there's also just an added secure feeling when driving a Volvo compared to other classics. Volvo has always been a safety pioneer, and this car introduced the three-point seatbelts for the bucket seats up front.

Under the hood is the year-correct 1.8-liter B18 motor. You'll love the authenticity of this appearance, with the (coincidingly) red block and dual set of SU carburetors. The B-series engines are at the heart of Volvo's reliability reputation, and the way this one fires up eagerly and runs really reaffirms the sturdy feeling. The four-speed manual transmission is a smooth shifter that gives you firm control over it all. Part of the safety spirit includes a nimble and controlled driving feeling, which is enhanced by front disc brakes and grippy modern tires. After all, the best way to avoid an accident is not to get in one at all. But what it also does is contribute to the feeling of a lively driver's classic.

The sale comes complete with maintenance records and service manuals. This is a sharp-looking sedan that can't help but make you want to hit the road. So if you love a distinct car with integrity, you know you need this Volvo. Call today!!!
