Vehicle Description
1969 Chevrolet Impala Convertible I purchased this Impala from the
original owner in 2008 with just under 70,000 miles. Car was built
at the Doraville GA assembly plant and never left a 30 mi. radius
of the plant. Documentation includes: -- Build sheet --
Protect-O-Plate on warranty pamphlet -- Original dealer invoice --
Original manuals and document sleeve -- Service records Factory
options: -- Power top w/glass rear window -- Power Windows -- Power
Steering -- AM Radio -- Tinted Glass -- 255HP 350 -- Clock Never
any rust on the car. As the owner was elderly when I purchased it,
there were a few bumps and bruises, but none that required any
panel replacement. As far as I know, the car wears all of its
original sheetmetal. IN 2008/09, we disassembled the car and did a
frame-on restoration/refresh. It was repainted in Cortez Silver
(69) and was originally Champaign (63). The interior was
re-carpeted and it appears that the front bench seat was recovered
as original before I purchased it. The front bumper was re-plated
and the rear was polished. Suspension was refreshed, brakes
rebuilt, etc. The original engine was re-built due to valve guide
blow-by and motor internals were in excellent condition. Some
driveability and safety modifications made during the restoration:
-- Powerglide replaced with 700R4 OD trans -- Disk front brakes in
place of drums -- 2 drop spindles -- Correct 69 Impala tilt column
in place of non-tilt -- Repro sport steering wheel -- Repro 15
Rally wheels in place of 14 steel -- Improved radiator -- Pertronix
ignition/coil -- Dynamat floor covering -- Hidden Custom Autosound
stereo under dash (original AM still in dash) -- Custom stainless
dual exhaust -- 500 series power steering box -- LED rear
taillights with sequential turn signals The car remains in
excellent condition and is an amazing driver. The paint is 10+
years old and now shows some sanding marks and has a scratch around
the trunk lock, but shines and shows very very well. The car now
has just under 80,000 original miles. The car is sold on a Bill of
Sale as Georgia does not issue titles on this vintage. I have the
original 1969 title which will accompany the car.
