Mechanical
The Chevrolet Corvette was never better. The front engine, rear
wheel driven all-American sports car is one of the sweetest
handling machines this side of supercar territory.
But our Z06 begs the question, what separates sports cars from
supercars? Co-developed with the C7.R racecar the 2018 Corvette Z06
Coupe features the same technologies like the LT4 supercharged 6.2L
V8 engine that was SAE-certified at 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of
torque.
The 2018 Corvette Z06 was (up to that point in the brand's history)
the most powerful production Corvette ever built and made available
to consumers in the open market.
Mash the throttle from standstill and 60 mph will flash by in a
blistering 2.95 seconds up to a top speed in the 200 mph range.
The 650 horsepower and equal amount of torque in lb-ft available
from the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 are simply monumental figures
that feel even bigger when you're behind the wheel.
It's all sent to the rear wheels via the option of an 8-speed
automatic. An electronic limited slip differential is standard at
the rear to help keep things as sticky as possible.
The car boasts other features that set it apart from the standard
coupe like the huge performance radial tires that are 1.5 inches
wider than those found on the base Stingray in the front and two
inches wider in the rear.
It has a five-position Drive Mode Selector that is tailored to 12
vehicle attributes to fit the driver's specific operating
environment and features standard Magnetic Ride Control and
Performance Traction Management, and red Brembo brakes that offer
improved braking performance while contributing to greater handling
through reduced up-sprung weight.
Interior
The driver-centric cockpit centers around standard GT seats but
with the 3LZ adds a leather wrapped interior, Nappa leather,
navigation, and the performance data logger.

does have things like a flat-bottomed steering wheel, Apple CarPlay
and Android Auto capability, premium Bose audio system, 4G LTE
Wi-Fi hotspot that turns the Z06 into a complete mobile
connectivity hub, Navigation screen, Improved rear-view camera,
grey carpeting, black floor mats, and all power options too.
Exterior
Our ZO6 comes in a catchy name Son Of A Gun Grey metallic shade of
paint with the racing stripe down the center that looks amazing and
really makes the chrome factory rims and performance tires stand
out.
Other features on the Z06 include rear fenders that are more than
three inches wider than those of the base C7, scoops on the
rear-fender vents that force 50 percent more air to the newly
enlarged transaxle coolers, ground effects, rear and front wing and
splitter, as well as that famous Z06 badging.
