1996 Ford BRONCO XLT—A Great Truck Made Better
This BRONCO has been modified to both modernize it and to make it into an awesome show—or go--vehicle. Virtually everything on this truck has been either replaced or rebuilt during an extensive restoration that is fully documented with pictures and receipts. The raised ride height and perfect finishes makes it a truck that you will enjoy taking anyplace you wish to go—be it to a show, Home Depot or off-roading! And you will be the subject of envy of fellow truck enthusiasts when they see one of these iconic Trucks so perfectly restored. And that’s before they look under the hood and see the professionally stroked 351 Windsor engine.
Fully Rebuilt and Completely Updated
This 1996 has been modified and updated to insure its reliability and performance as well as its appearance. It has:
Excellent from Top to Bottom
New body panels (hood, doors, quarters, cowl) were fitted and then prepped for painting. The truck was then painted Gray to show quality standards.
The front and rear bumpers are ProtoFab RockSolid, with a push bar on the front as well as the front-mounted 12,000 lb Rough Country winch. There is also a trailer hitch and power socket on the rear.
The underside is clean and rust-free (please see pictures). And a skid plate was installed to protect the new gas tank during off-roading.
The interior looks like new as well, with new door panels. The driver’s seat has a small hole (see pictures) and a bit of wear. The truck has power windows as well as a power rear tailgate window. The factory keyless entry system with power locks works properly.
The instruments have been updated with a later-year version of Ford’s original equipment.
A six-point roll cage fits neatly inside the cab, and it, as well as the roof is removable for open-air driving.
Filling the detailed engine compartment is a new 351 Windsor which has been bored .040 and stroked for total displacement of 408 ci. It has aluminum heads, stainless steel valves and a Howards Performance hydraulic roller camshaft. (A fuller description of motor’s rebuild and specs is available as is the receipt from the engine builder.) The motor has less than 800 miles, primarily from break in and tuning. Other features of the engine include:
The engine produces approximately 500 horsepower.
The Bronco utilizes its original (completely rebuilt) automatic E40D overdrive transmission as well as Borg Warner’s 1356 Electric Shift-on-the-Fly 4x4 transfer case with new manual locking hubs. It has a US Shift Quick 2 Stand-alone transmission control system.
There is a fully rebuilt Ford 8.8 rear with a disc brake conversion. 4.56 gears were used front and rear.
The Bronco has both power steering and power 4-wheel disc brakes. The braking system has been completely rebuilt with new rotors/calipers, lines, master and booster cylinders.
The truck is equipped with 5 SOTA Off Road Wheels mounted with 315/70R17 Pro Comp tires that allow this Bronco to go anywhere the driver wishes.
The truck is equipped with a number of safety and convenience additions, including:
A Tastefully Modernized Ford BRONCO with “Go Anywhere” Curb Appeal
There is one word that can best describe this 1996 BRONCO: Outstanding! Almost every part and every system on this truck has been rebuilt or replaced: it’s like buying a new truck from 1996 . . . except Ford never built a truck as tough as this. Importantly, this isn’t a mish-mash of parts and equipment from various unknown sources, almost all of the parts are from Ford or one of the leading manufacturers of off-road/performance equipment.
