Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this 1978 Land Rover Santana
Series III 109, finished in beige over a black interior. These
Santanas were manufactured under license from Land Rover in Spain,
primarily for central and south American markets. They are simple
to own and maintain. Recent maintenance on this Rover has included
a new radiator, new glow plugs and wires, and an oil change.
The naturally aspirated 2.5 liter diesel runs well, and has had no
trouble starting thanks to the new glow plugs. The 4-speed manual
transmission shifts properly through all gears and the clutch and
brakes feel good, too. Steel wheels are wrapped in a set of Destone
off-road tires and a full size spare is mounted on the hood.
The interior has three bucket seats up front, but the rear is a
clean slate ready to be built out to suit your needs. Ample room
for storage, a sleeping platform, tools, or for rear seats to be
installed. This 109 features a safari-style roof which helps keep
temperatures cool in the cabin. The body, though showing some wear,
is in good shape overall, as is the paint and glass. Underneath,
the frame is solid.
